Basic Reference and Citation Styling formats

Here are some basic APA reference styles. Include as much information in references as possible. We cite references in the occultforums wiki so that the material can be easily referenced and validated as useful knowledge for the article that is written. Book titles and author names should be capitalized properly.

  • Single Author:

Author name. Book Title, Book Publisher, Reference page. (date of publish).

  • General Reference:

Book name, (book edition). Location. Publisher name. (date of publish).

  • Periodical or magazine:

Author name. Journal or Magazine, Issue volume, page, (date of publish).

  • Online Books, PDF's:

Author name. Book name. Reference page. Retrieved from http://www.booksource.html (date of link retrieval).

  • Websites:

Author Name, Article name. (date of publish). Retrieved from http://onlinesource.html (date of link retrieval).

  • Book Reviews:

Author name. (date) [review of Book Name] online: Retrieved from http://somebookreview.com (date of link retrieval).

  • Dissertation, Thesis:

Author name. Thesis title. (date of publish).

  • Blog or Vlog post:

Author name. Article Title. Retrieved from http://someblog.com (date of link retrieval).

  • DVD or Television interviews:

Producer. (Date of broadcast or copyright). Title of broadcast [ Television broadcast or Television series ]. City of origin: Studio or distributor.

  • Radio interview:

Host, or interviewer name. Radio show name. Title or topic. (date of publish or broadcast). Retrieved from http://someradioshow.html(date of link retrieval).

  • Bibliographies should be arranged by date of publication in descending order.
