Accidentally invoking Uriel

Post by Darkwing »

I have never invoked any angel or spirits before (partly because I didn't believe it possible). However something strange happened in the past couple of days.

I had had a pet squirrel for over 6 years. She was as robust, active and healthy as a squirrel can be. But day before yesterday evening she grew very quiet. I took her in my lap and had a feeling her time was drawing to a close (she was old). That night she became very weak, and seeing her like that made me feel so upset, I unconsciously prayed to the archangel Uriel to release her from any kind of pain, to give her peace and take away her suffering, even if that means taking away her life.

The next morning she passed away. Dad was holding her in his palm, stroking her gently, and she just slipped away.. Painlessly.

Do you think this was a coincidence? We are all surprised at her dying so suddenly, although we knew it would happen sooner or later due to old age. But could my prayer have invoked the archangel?

Hello Darkwing,

I'm sorry to hear about your pet. I think squirrels would make nice pets. When I was very young my grandmother had a raccoon! In all probability though, it was a coincidence and you shouldn't feel guilty that your prayer had any connection to your pet's death. People have many random thoughts that pass through their minds daily and serious magical actions require a greater focus and energy. I have done Invocation both on an Almadel and in pentagrams and it does take some investment. However, the angels/devatas are transcendental beings of light and consciousness so if you think about them it can resonate with them and they can be aware. My suggestion is that if you still have any lingering doubts that you can learn in invoke Uriel and ask directly. The angles/devatas are not as remote as many would like us to believe.

I suppose you’re right. Thing is, the previous day I had been looking up information on archangels, and how to invoke them and stuff. Some had stated pretty basic procedures that involved simple incantation and meditation. That’s what got me wondering…

Out of curiosity, do you see visions of the archangel when you invoke them? Do they speak, or appear in form or…?

Well, depending on your approach it really can be rather simple. The one I like most and also would recommend is to perform a lesser banishing pentagram ritual (should be done a few times before just for banishing purpose to get a feeling for it) and add an invitation, summoning or whatever you prefer to get in touch with one of the 4.
Of course you could also go with the greater banishing ritual but this involves also the planetary forces which makes it in my opinion unnecessary complicated.

Another rather simple approach would be the usage of a simple verse or psalm which you associate with your contact. You could write a verse for yourself connected to Uriel or take another one which you feel fits best. Then just use it like a mantra, try to get a consciusness shift and connect. Could take a little bit of time though and you might use it for normal meditation first to get a feeling for it.

The two are rather simple to perform, the details how to do the act dependo of course of the caster since he is the one to perform it.
Should you feel excitement during the act, stay with it and use it, it can be a wonderful flow where you can dive into.

I'm sorry to hear about your pet but glad that it's passing was so peaceful.

That's not an invocation - that was a prayer for mercy. It sounds like it was granted.

Invoking Uriel would've been drawing him into yourself - into your own being. You didn't do that. Instead he eased the suffering of your squirrel and your own heart. You didn't have to watch it suffer. Sometime prayers are answered. Sometimes we think they are because of how things turn out. Either way - your beloved pet had a merciful death. I would say thank you.
