Energy release during meditation becoming too violent?

Post by Deathquota »

I was wondering what to do if my twitching / body spasms while releasing energy during meditation becomes too violent. Something like this has happened twice to me.
I was in a very positive mood leading up to what happened, euphoric, losing a sense of self, and making hand gestures.
I hadn't taken anything to alter my state.
One of the times, when the spasms intensified I became delirious and my heart grew faint.
I don't have any health problems, but sometimes the amount of energy I release is too much and I have a more violent seizure-like effect.
Is there any precautions I should take, or is it normal ?
Studying tantra with my entire soul right now, If you mind.

Ground yourself before and when it becomes to strong, let it get sucked up by the earth. If you have problems with high amounts of energy, try to handle smaller ones first and try to get a hold of the rhythm, the way it pulses through you.

Jan Fries gives a very detailed explanation how to handle this and states of spasm and euphoria in "seidways"
bye bye

Ramscha is correct. Grounding and Centering are the two most basic steps to any occult operation and energy work. I never do anything without first going through those steps. I would add to his recommendation suggesting Robert Bruce's work:

Yeah, you gotta get that under control. The good news is that you've got energy skills. A little work, a little practice - it'll all come together.

I do not know your practice or your experiences. Because of this, what I have to offer may not be right for you.

Meditation, from a Buddhist perspective, is not a passive activity. Meditation done to relax is not the traditional function of meditation. Meditation is used to grow, and accordingly there is a struggle involved. It is a practice where the mind, the heart, the body are tempered. It is a lot of work and is anything but passive.

When I read your post, I think Kundalini. Imagine this: within you there are seven spinning wheels. In most people and at most times, they are not lined up perfectly. They are off by a few degrees. When light from our root shines upward, it goes off in all of these different directions like unaligned prisms. That light fractures and disperses impotently.

What I believe you are describing is the alignment of these 'prisms', these spinning wheels. When they align, the light from our root has a clear path: it shines directly and forcefully upward, like a laser. It can be violent, as you described, because of a lack of stability: it has not yet been experienced to such a degree where that alignment is stable.

I do not believe grounding this energy is a constructive use of that experience. Rather, pay attention to your posture and try to keep it as steady as possible. Through visualization or whatever method you know how to use or can find, try to stabilize the alignment of those seven wheels so that this energy can flow cleanly and clearly upward without obstruction.

Kundalini is described as a serpent. This is because the serpent is still, motionless and prefers to bask lazily in the sun. People do not know where it is until it moves and when it moves, when it strikes, it is fast. Very fast. It is precise. It is a focused explosion of controlled force. Without guidance, this light is like an uncontrolled lightning bolt, who knows where it will strike! With guidance, you will become the lightning bolt and you will strike where you decide, when you decide.
