Hello Candy Ray. Eris-chan is simply a Japanese form of Ellis' name. Ellis = Eris. Chan has no translation, but connotes cuteness and affection. Such as in the manner of bird becoming birdy, or dog becoming doggy.

Chan may be used to help...personify something. In this instance...it gives a more profound sense of life, of personality, of depth, to Ellis. In Japanese Shinto, animism is the belief that unseen life pervades all things, even seemingly inanimate objects. As a result, the Japanese have a strong sense toward personifying and giving life to things Western sensibilities would ordinarily contend as dead, inanimate objects.

Well, long story short, the Japanese animistic nature of perception is quite helpful in animating servitors and egregores. Hence, I sometimes refer to Ellis as Eris-chan. If an egregore were to become powerful enough, real enough, it might physically manifest. At which point, some might say it is a tulpa.
