I'm looking for a freeware program that displays on my desktop the phase of the moon and the sun and moon sign. Does anybody have any links? I've seen them before but can't find it.

Huh. haven't actually heard anything about something like that... But it shouldn't be too hard to make one I think.

Lunabar is free software that gives you the moon phases, rising and setting times, what constellations it's in when, sun rise and set times, and a whole plethora of other cool lunar and solar tidbits. It's in a list with a whole bunch of other downloads here:

Google desktops have several good moon phase programs, just go into their dowload site and the programs is free. Though they do only work on Windows Vista.

There are gadgets available through google.
There are even great pieces of software available for your palm pilot.
I suggest a google search.

Don't know if it'll do what you want it to, but ChronosXP is the best astro-type program I've found thus far....and it's free.
