I'm looking for some Sumerian and Egyptian cleanseing rituals that are non-speciffic,I'm thinking my current studies might warrant them, also I would like some ideas on inscense for weather controlling/associated beings.I'm not doing well in my searches so I figured I'd better ask.there are two of Egyptian origin who seem to be weather related that have been quite nice to me lately and I would like to do a little something by way of showing appreciation.:)

Rituals and that sort of thing should be shared only by email or PM. They are not allowed in open posts.

The Sumerians used a device like two wooden bowls one on top of the other (like a clamshell) with spirals going from outside to the center bottom in a clockwise spiral to trap and dispose of pesty spirits. Most often the daily lamentations (which we don't use in Arratu) handled most of the foul energy.

This is probably a dumb question, but what is Arratu? Is it a Sumerian based path?

The picture that I saw was part of a museum collection and protected by copyright - I am not sure of the link but I might be able to find it given enough time. The bowls were about the size of wooden salad bowls in a restaurantand attached to each other with a leather hinge. The insides were painted with the spirals (about 60 of them) from the lip of the rim to the "bottom" of the bowls in the clockwise direction that used about 1/4 of the circumfrence. As I recall there was a hatch pattern at the middle bottom of each bowl.

comedian777 - Arratu is a path and religion based in the myths and practices of Sumer. For a more in depth explaination you can email me or PM me.
