Higher Self = Future Self?

I don't know if this is an "original" idea or not, but if the higher self is everything you truely want to be, and everything you should be, i.e. perfection, the philosopher's stone, every act it performs is in perfect harmony with everything, the unification of the microcosmos and the macrocosmos in perfect harmony, then here is an idea for you all. What if the higher self is your future self, or better put your probable future self if you don't fully fall into the trappings of the lower self and thus to total destruction of your being? What if at this time of our being the higher self is pure conception, in other words exists in the universal mind, oneness, Chaos, etc, and the goal of the "great work" is to lead to the eventual full manifestation of this concept into this reality? Maybe the purpose of the illusion of time is to allow for the forward movement towards this perfect state, or the backwards movement to total destruction of the self into the thing which it sprang from? What I mean by the higher self being just a concept is that, in this state of awareness that we are currently in the higher self exists in the future and so is what could be, and the lower self is what already has been but exists no more in reality and is so now just concept as well, i.e. neither have form (being). But being concepts they do have form whenever we invoke them into our being with our actions, but are both unstable as they are both existing in our minds at any one time, and so can never fully manifest within us, until one or the other is given full reign. Whichever way we want to go is up to us. We can anihilate the very essense of our being, or continue towards perfection of our being.
I'm not saying that reunifying with our true self means joining the infinate, meaning we lose our identity, and thus form, but on the contrary we gain our true idenity, and thus everything we do is in perfect accordance with not only ourselves but everything that is. In this state there is nothing we can do wrong, and we never have to feel pain, misery, fear, sorrow, or any other thing that we dispise again. We are the oneness yet we are still a limited self. The opposite way, that in the direction of the lower self, would be the way back to nothingness, true nothingness. No self, no oneness, no conciousness at all. Anyway though what I say about the higher and lower selves is nothing new, but my idea about the higher self being us in the future, and the lower us in the beginning, seems to be a new idea. Maybe when we commune with and follow our higher self we are transmiting and recieving input to and from our future self? Also, following this idea when we commune with and follow our lower self, maybe we are transmitting and recieving input to and from our past self, our primordial self. What we were when first created? Something with the mindset similar to a bacteria, perhaps? In other words the most simplist most basic, primal, instintual, self centered lifeform there is? Our higher self on the other hand would indeed be something beyond human. The pinacle of the evolution of life (not meaning the physical form, but the essence of life itself). Sence time is really just an illusion, being just an instrument to measure cause and effect, this transmitting and recieving happens instantly, and on a scientific scale registers physically in the back part of our brains (modern psychology's unconcious (having within it both the sub and superconcious)).
I realize what I present here is nothing new, even if I am the first to describe it this way, and just a new model to show the same age old metaphycial ideas, but nevertheless I thought some of you might find it interesting. Please share any thoughts you have on this idea.
Also, please don't take this high and lower self to mean some kind of moral religious crap, but just a model of the simple cause and effects of the great illusion of seperation we live in that allows us to be. One could argue that you could follow the higher self at times and the lower self at other times and in this way stay on the fence, following some kind of middle path, but this balancing act if it even could truely be done, would be a great work in itself, and judging from the history of our species would be quite inhuman and thus impossible to do for long. Life, and existing itself is about choice. Binary, i.e. 1s and 0s. You either do this or that, there is no real middle road. If there is it's a path of stagnation and leads nowhere. Being that being is doing, this stagnation would become boring and pointless, and so then one would have to choose the higher or lower self. The same would go for pinging back and forth between the two great urges for eternity, eventually one would get tired and either chose to move forward for good to something better or throw ones self into oblivion and end the game once and for all. In the end there is no avoiding it, we all must choose. But as I said this has nothing to do with some notion of right or wrong, good or evil, simply the law of existing itself. Please prove me wrong though if I am. I care nothing for egotistical beliefs of being correct or not about an idea I have, and want to be proved wrong if I am.
