So I've been doing pranayama and mantrayoga for about a year now. Recently I picked up a book on Taoist sexual yoga and internal alchemy.

However my big problem is that my time for meditation has remained constant since I started meditating. I hit a wall at 45 minutes that seems entirely insurmountable. Any advice on how to get over the hump?

Have you tried breaking up the sessions of sitting meditation with walking meditation? Works for me.

I've heard of this before. What does walking meditation entail?

One can think of it as a more active mindfulness... In my sangha we loosely tuck the left thumb into the fingers and place the right hand over that with the right thumb on top: this is a collapsed 'universal mudra'. The hands are then placed on the tummy. Then, walking clockwise (if in a circle), maintaining the breath and fully experiencing the contact of the floor with the feet, you walk.

It is best to get in-person instruction...but this should get you started.
