I am having a discussion on what would happen if you were missing a chakra, not one not working but not having one at all.
Now I contend that you would die, or at least be dangerously ill all your life.
I never actually studied chakras, but from what I have picked up here and there from learning various things it goes like this. Correct me if I am wrong
There are 7 major chakras, to correspond to 7 major organs /glands in your body. They have a duality, meaning they extend both out your back and front.
Each one also corresponds to a level and energy body, in your aura.
Thanx.

If you choose the situation where chakras and nerve ganglia and glands are connected, losing a chakra would mean losing the nerve collection and glands. You could probably look at the medical symptoms people have when cetain glands simply are not working and draw a parallel from there.

This subject is usually discussed in the Astral, Trance & Psionics forum or the Eastern forum but I have opted to move it to Astral since it is more technical.

Basically your right, the positioning of the seven major chakras relates to the control of the metabolic, glandular, immune, central nervous systems and reproductive organs. Each chakra acts like a self opening valve filtering the "electrical current" of the universal life force into the body.
The word chakra is sanskrit, meaning "Wheel", because the energy flowing through these points is concentrated with a swirling motion much like a wheel, moving clockwise and anti-clockwise at the same time.
So yes, having one chakra closed (or even missing) would definatly show symptoms of an illness albeit small or major, the body is highly sensitive, and the smallest change(electrically, chemically or elsewise) will show up.

Thanx.[/QUOTE]Hi!
My disclaimer- I work with my chakras all the time,to the point where its second nature to m,but there may be gaps in my knowledge..?
ok, I am a clairsentient and part of my skills include the chakras. As well as experiential knowledge i have book knowledge. As far as i am aware i have never heard of missing chakras,to me that sounds odd. From my understanding of chakras, everyone has them, otherwise something went wrong in the cosmic schemes of things if a being was born with a missing chakra!
It may be possible and yes, looking at peoples illness could relate to missing chakras,BUT!
More often its a case of a seriously blocked chakra along with karmic ties.
Many books say there are the standard 7 chakras, and yes they correspond to the 7 major organs..etc..but through my abilities as a clairsentient(feels others feelings) I realised there had to be more chakras than plain old 7.
There are more, hundreds actually. these are called minor chakras. For some examples, cheeks, knees, wrists, elbows, either side of the heart chakra, thigh, ankle, nose, chin, palm of hands..well you get the idea. In all these spots i have felt energy tingling just like in the major centres with unique energy signature patterns.
I hope that has enlightened you to chakras a bit, there is heaps more i could talk about with what i have experienced..
perhaps another thread...
thanks for listening,
