Hypnosis as a Catalyst

I'm the type of individual who has been trying to get into a good meditative and astral "zone" for some time, but has been unable to do so....just can't seem to concentrate enough, or perhaps I concentrate too much...anyhow... I was thinking.... Would it be possible, and if it is, would it be advisable to undergo hypnosis to set up some sort of trigger to allow yourself to get "into the zone," so to speak, easier? Or would it be better to just continue to struggle without results until finally you do it yourself without any subconscious triggers?

I mean, I realize that it actually sounds like you could be opening yourself up to possible dangers by setting up a trigger that could put you in a calmer more meditative state...but I wonder if in the long run it would be counterproductive.

It would probably be cheaper and more effective just to get some meditation instruction. Hypnogogia is not the same thing as meditation, at least in my experience...both can be useful but in different situations. Does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense, Mmothra, thanks. Its one of those things that my gut says, "not gonna work," but my head kinda say "well, it could work...but probably implausable..."

Trance induction scripts are identical to hypnosis scripts because they are the same thing. There is no difference between going into a deep state of relaxation and going into hypnosis. Check out the induction scripts here: http://www.hypnosis.com/trance/index.html. You can hypnotize yourself, of course.
