I did a meditation to discover the spirits around me...

When I "contacted" them, I asked their "name".
I got the names of "my" spirit, the one over my property (house), and the one over my neighbourhood.

Now that I know who/what they are I plan to "work with them". :-)

Have any of you tried this?

I read in another thread (discovering your "magical name") that some people find the name(s) in a dream. I got them within minutes by doing a focused "meditation" using deep breathing and "Tai Chi" like movement (standing) to "tune in". Once I sensed the spirit, I channelled (spoke) the name, then wrote it down. Now I can tune into them much faster... I'm still finding out what I can do with them... I can sense that there are many possibilities...

Could you be more specific in your definition of "spirit"? As many people call different beings/thought forms by different names, I'd like to understand better the sort of being you're talking about. Are these beings (for lack of a better word) that currently (and have always) occupy(ied) the astral plane? Are these beings remnants of formerly living beings (i.e., "ghosts")? Are these beings egregores created by other people?
Or are these questions you have yet to determine the answers to?

Also, what sorts of impressions do you get from these beings? Do they come across as being helpful? Do they give the impression that they are there to act as guardians or guides for you? Or do they come across as apathetic to your pressence, or are they prone to hostility?

I apologize for bombarding you with questions, but you've certainly piqued my interest. Any further details you could give regarding your interactions with these beings would be of great interest to me.

I see. So, if I understand you correctly, these "beings" may actually be aspects of yourself that you're just now learning to communicate with, potentially?

Continuing from my statement above, if indeed my assumption is correct, could it be that these things are not hostile to you simply because they may be other aspects of your Self?

Or do you suspect that it's entirely something else?

I am not totally happy with mine either ...it could be better - it is my objective to find out the best way to improve myself, and the world around me.

I would say that most are not... but at least some strive to achieve that peace, whereas some do not even realize they lack it. But, certainly, yours is a good attitude to take, as, in my experience, it leads to the most personal growth.

I'm anxious to hear more about your experiences in communicating with these beings (or, your other Selves, as the case may be), and what discoveries spring from these communications. Being an armchair sort, it's not something I've personally delved into, but I always enjoy discussing the experiences of others. And who knows? Perhaps such discussions will one day aid me in my experiences with such.

Not too sure if these are part of the current spiritual formation i've heard of...
Did they say anything about working together them selves or was this entirely your own idea...
