Putting yourself above your desire.

Latley, through experimentation i found that my results happen a lot faster and a lot smoother if i find a way to put myself above my desire.
When i say, putting myself above my desire, I mean putting myself in a state of mind where i look at my desire purely objectively, just about what it is, and not experiencing the actual feeling of desire.
For example, lets say that you do a working or whatever for some change. Once you have finished, instead of trying to forget what you want, as i find this causes problem, because if you try to forget something you will then in fact think about it more, like when somebody says "Don't think about an Elephant" you then think about an elephant. Instead of trying to forget, just stop caring. Because all the time you desire something, your not in control i don't feel, and you let your desire control you. You have to stop caring, you are allowed to think about it, as long as you don't desire it. This is where self-control comes in.
Not only this, to put yourself above your desire more, you need to feel that you deserve it. Whether you feel you deserve something or not is to do with your own morals and ethics, so if you feel you don't deserve something, you may need to adjust your morals and ethics to change this. I'm not quite sure if I can describe how to do that, but it basically has to do with the way you view yourself and other people.
Anyway, i thought this may be interesting for newbs, or anyone really who's having a hard time getting results or something to work.
