Hello,

So, you may have noticed I've added some Google AdSense ads to the top and bottom of the forum. This is something I always told myself I'd never do, but which I find myself in the position where I kind of have to.

I'd rather not go into huge amounts of detail, but basically, after moving into a one-bedroom flat, the costs are mounting up, and in order to continue hosting the site and feeding myself, I need to find additional income wherever possible.

If it turns out that too many users are idealistically opposed to advertising (as I kind of am), then we can have a talk about removing them. Otherwise, I'll leave them up.

I apologise in advance if they're unsightly

I s there a donate feature here? And would donating maybe help with spam clean up?

There's no donate button at the moment, but I might be tempted to add one, on a side-page somewhere perhaps

Clicking the report post button would help (I'm fairly sure there is one, but I don't see it, hopefully because I'm an admin), I check in to see periodically, but unless there's spam at the top of a board I might tend to miss it, if the title of the latest thread in a board appears to be on-topic, I'll continue scanning. There are quite a few boards to go through, so it's likely that I'll be missing spam in a lot of places. I do need to find the time to properly clean up. There might be something I can do with database queries to show me threads with URLs in them...

Ok, hopefully that's the site cleared up, there were a few accounts banned and a lot of posts deleted.
Might not have been the cleanest way to do it, as it was a direct database cleanup, but it should be clean now.

There's nothing wrong about Google Adsense .. It's not pop-up that hides topics or scam links,etc.

+ sometimes it shows interesting links about the same topic, so 'never putting adsense' on website is not right imho : )
