Hi,

I'm planning to change the forum icons, and I wanted to take a vote on what the new icons should be.

There are a few options listed above, and you're free to suggest your own.

Sorry, just to clarify, for each board or topic there is a little icon like this:


This poll is to discuss replacements for those little icons. After a few days, I'll see how the polls are doing and whip up some examples of the two or three leading suggestions, and we can take it from there

So, I've got a few examples put together, please take a look and consider re-casting your votes... I've added "Book" to the vote list, it's not quite a scroll...

aaa !!!! those ones are perfecrt...hmmm...i've made up my mind...the book is very interesting,but how will it appear?open/closed or color/no color?

Something much like them, yes, I'm still fiddling with getting the fire to look just right, haha, and there are a lot of icons to replace, so it might be a week or so before I've found the time to make them all, but I will be working on them

The icons are pentagram scrolls, with the following additions to denote the state of the post:
Flames: Unread posts Stabbed with an athame: Sticky topic Wax-sealed: Locked Swirling vortex: Moved topic
You might need to press CTRL+F5 to refresh the cached style sheets in your browser, things might have quirky proportions until then

They need to be shrunk in height bc on my browser it effs the whole forum.

Stukov - could you try holding CTRL and pressing F5, this clears cached stylesheets - stylesheets are usually stored locally by your browser so it doesn't have to load them every time you get a page, but if they're changed, often it doesn't clear the cache and you end up with the area where the icons live looking too small. I suspect this is what's happened.

Try that, and if you're still having trouble, let me know what browser etc you're using. I'd rather adjust the style sheets than resize the icons, they lose quality the smaller they go

Well, this answered my question about what the purple swirl was (moved topic) but what is a topic pentagram covered in gray-white sparkles?

The grey-white sparkly ones are topics that have been possessed by flying space monkeys...

... but seriously, yeah - I'd be quite keen to get a complete list of what the icons mean too please.

Yeh,it's the one icon without a legend,lol.I think it might be post count related.

It seems to show up on topics with more than 15 posts.
