The Book of the Law and the Thoth deck?

Hi there,
I'm into the tarot but I looked into the book of the Law because a friend recommended the Thoth deck. Its a very mysterious book and I don't know what to make of it yet or how its supposed to help me understand the symbolism of the Thoth deck. Plus I've read that it might not have been dictated by a spirit because of an anagram in the book that says 'aiwass the minister' = 'I sin, I was the master'. Do you think I should stick with it anyway even though it was written by Crowley? What can I really learn about the Thoth deck from this book?
Thanks! [unsure]
