I started getting interested in magick since last month when i accidently read alex chapmans book about chaos magick. I tried some of the excercises listed in his book excatly the same way he had described them but none of them worked. Can you people give me some tips to improve my skills. I always write my desires starting with I WILL TO or I DESIRE. Then i omit the repeating lettes and make a sigil of them. I then charge the sigil by masturbating and visualising it at the point of orgasm and then completely forget it. I know i am doing something somewhere wrong . Can you point it out.

I'd say (though others will no doubt disagree) that your problem is a lack of training. While magic is an ability inherent in every human, it still needs practice and effort to develop. Just like you need to work your way up with smaller exercise and gain strength before you try to start lifting those massive weights at the gym, you should work on training the mind with meditation/visualization/energy work exercises if you want to be able to use these techniques practically to effect magic. Most of the ancient traditions, and quite a few of the modern ones, involve long training periods which can extent for years.
Since you're interested in Chaos Magic, I'd suggest Liber MMM, it seems to be the starting point for most of the chaotic types. Good luck

I wholeheartedly agree with
Rin, Man...
Another good analogy would be, going to a Martial Arts class for the first time expecting to be able to put your fist through a stack of bricks.
It might work; probably won't; and you
could do yourself an injury...
Liber MMM is a great place to start. However, it is actually not called that.
The book is by Peter J. Carroll, and is entitled "Liber Null and Psychonaut," --ISBN 0-87728-639-6
You can find a copy of just Liber MMM at
http://www.chaosmatrix.org,
or the complete work is available at Grimoar, here:

Keep at it, and things will start to happen eventually... [smile2]

I WILL TO or
I DESIRE
Bad, bad, very bad, if you're seeking results. I thought that when I read chapman's book he said something exactly of this nature, but I can't remember exactly...saying you will to or you desire means that with your ritual, it is being immediately fulfilled. You did a ritual so that YOU WILL DESIRE WHAT YOU WANT, NOT GET IT. It is better to say, I will be given, or I will gain, etc, etc and imagine yourself with the result accomplished (i.e. actually imagine yourself doing whatever it is, instead of wishing for it),
instead of desiring the result while you whack off.
