Well first off, I do want to express the fact that I am new to magic. The most I accomplished is the creation of two sigils, and while the first I have had success with, I created the other to verify that it wasn't just a coincidence, and that I actually did something correctly. As a matter a fact, sigil making provides quite a bit of joy in my opinion, and I hope to move to talismans once I find a reputable source.

Anyways, I wanted to ask the members of this site what they think I should focus on. I definitely want to continue with sigils, and talismans which I heard were aspects of Chaos Magick, and also move into enchanting different, mundane objects for the purposes of divination. I also want to move into evocation, and invocation, perhaps calling upon the spirits, gods, or demons for help in certain rituals. (I definitely want to try this in one aspect or another, whether it be conjuration or just, communicating with the spirits.

My purposes are not specifically meant to help others or even hurt them, though I am not going to lie, and say that I will not experiment. I want to have a greater understanding of the world around me, and perhaps use it to my advantage to control mood, the atmosphere around me, and the way others perceive myself.

So, in all, I guess I am asking this. Who should I study? What forms of Magick, and where can I find spells, incantations, or ceremonies that have worked for people?

sounds to me like you'd be interested in chaos magic. i say start reading Liber Null & Psychonaut and see what you think. also, maybe check out the chaos magic section on the site.

I have heard a ton about reading those two sources... I shall do so. And for the magick on this site, who would you suggest looking at? Any reputable users that you know?

well i'd say take a look at any of the topics up that interest you, you'll find the people who give pretty good advice. the kite (i think his name was) was a fellow IOT member and can give good advice, but i don't know if he's still on here or not. i dunno, there's a lot of knowledgeable people in that section. i am more than happy to help also.

The Illuminates huh? I was under the impression that membership was confidential. Please correct me if I am wrong.

illuminates of thanateros are different from THE illuminati. membership is only confidential if the peerson wants to keep it confidential, then everyone respects their wishes.

I didn't mean the Illuminati. I may be some random person on a forum, but I do know the difference. [yay]

But still, I was under the impression. I am not a memeber, so I wouldn't have known.
