Greetings everyone,

I stumbled upon this forum searching for the meaning of a sanskrit line, and was immediately interested in pretty much everything I saw. I have always been interested in supernatural things, religion, etc.

A brief introduction:
My name is Quincy, I am 15 years old, Atheist, I enjoy music (mostly death metal, deathcore and such) and also play guitar and keyboard. And from time to time I like learning about various religions. I am quite new into the subject, but I know a pretty lot about Aleister Crowley, Christianity and (modern/laVey) Satanism. (and yes, I know occultism has nothing to do with satanism, and about occultism not being evil)

I am excited about finding information on this forum, and learning about the things it has to offer.

I want to close this introduction by asking two questions:
1. Is my age (15) too young to start discovering the 'occult world'? I have the patience, but can I bear the responsibility?
2. I am considering to buy the Necronomicon, written by Simon. Is this a good idea? why / why not? It's very pricy so I really appreciate any feedback!

Thanks for reading my introduction! I hope my english isn't thát bad ;D

I think your English is ok,so no worries. [thumbup]

1.Your age is fine too, just take it slowly and enjoy the learning process. But remember to walk before you try to run. [grin]

2.What else have you read/studied so far?

The Simonicon is a good read, but don't take it all literally. It's a good idea to learn a bit about Sumeria and the epics and myths too,if you are going to explore the Nec.It's loosely based around Lovecraft's mythos, but it has also riffed heavily from Sumerian mythology, for instance:The fifty names in the book come from the Names of Marduk.

You can find it online, for free too,if you search for it.

Hi Nahemah,

Thank you for your reply! I'm happy to hear that my English is understandable, and that my age doesn't deprive me from my interests [smile]
So far I have read a big part of the Bible, and I'm now reading the Satanic Bible. I know some Lovecraft stories, Cthulhu's one as example.I have also read about the magical Paradigm, though I am a complete newbie in magic. [shh]
I have created some Sigils to start with, and have tried to use the pendulum technique, and I am most intrested in the Chaos magicks.

I am glad to hear that I can find the book online, and I will definately look at it!
Thanks again for the reply.

hey there and welcome,

15 is not too youngor too late, it depends on alot of factors like determination, motivation, curiosity and maturity just to name a few, some have it others don't.. independent of age.

Necronomicon is more of a fiction or "fantasy" book, just like the bible i guess. It's always nice to read everything we can so that we can form a personal opinion and not just accept whatever people say about things.

Have fun around.
