I would love to hear your personal, (or perhaps second-hand) stories of encounters with demons. I have a few to share myself.

My grandfather, who is a Baptist preacher in the northern part of the states, once ministered to prisoners. One prisoner in particular was acting very strange. Upon hearing scripture being quoted, he jumped up and shouted "MY NAME IS ... " (The name he gave was long, and I don't remember it. But it started with a B). Then he ran into the cell wall and fell to the floor.

Another account is a photograph taken at a wedding. Behind the bride and groom, in the picture, is the face of a wretched old man with a disgusted look on his face. The wall behind them had a large painting of Jesus holding a lamb. The face of the old man was on the head of the lamb.

I know several more, but haven't got time to write it all now.

Well well well, I think this is interesting indeed, and right up my street!

I have many tales to tell, but now the tricky thing, is which one is the most interesting? Ha ha [yay]

Off the top of my head is a case a dealt with almost a year ago now. In London there was a graveyard in which whenever people went in, when they came out they would have fits of violence. Sometimes this would last for a few days, sometimes weeks, the longest was a month and a half.

How I got wind of this case was when a friend of a friend was afflicted with the same thing. I was there with both my friend (A) and the afflicted one (B). I remember we were watching TV when B suddenly launched into a full fit of violence into A.

Now, I teach Karate, and have been studying it for about 10+ years now. But that guy, jeez... B even got a hit or two on me. I regret it to this day but unfortunately I had no choice to, and I cannot put it any other way, than to "knock him the £$%! out" When he came around he didn't even remember what happened.

What tipped me off was the look in his face when he went violent. The look was deeper in his eyes but his entire face was contorted out of all human form (I noticed this because he was on top of me and strangling me, that's when I threw him off me and knocked him out). I could also feel the energy of a presence, but later it was gone. Indicating it was coming and going.

So, I asked him where he'd been the past few days and he told me about a whole load a places including the graveyard. At this point I was working against time (because by now, whatever was using him and others would know I was onto it) so I went straight to the graveyard, it seemed the most likely place for something like this. I cloaked and had a look around.

Now, this graveyard has some very, VERY old sections that barely anyone goes to (this is not Highgate Cemetery btw, for anyone in London thinking of that). The only people who go there are people looking to explore etc. When I got there, there was a ridiculously strong presence, I mean, it was rank with demonic energy. I remember when I was there it was so strong it felt hard to even breathe. This in my mind confirmed that it was something demonic.

I set up some camera's around the areas that were suspect that same night to see who went there during the day. Then one of the people who was there assaulted a policeman and it was in the local paper, he (the assaulter) described exactly what I saw that first day with B. This was a full confirmation pretty much.

I went in the next full moon, pretty much guns blazing. To be honest, I don't remember much of the actual situation when I went in guns blazing except for that these demons were tough as nails. I summoned the local spirits of the land to aid me and I drove them back to where they had closed, plugged the whole and that was the end of it.

A couple of notable things was at one point rocks started flying, I got a few very nasty gashes and needed stitches on one of them.

There has always been problems with that graveyard and the wood around it. Not sure why but I am still investigating it, gathering data etc.

I guess that's my most interesting tale.

Obviously, such beings like hanging out in graveyards. The earliest account of this I can think of is the "Maniac of Gadara" (a biblical account of a demon possessed man who dwelt among the tombs and cut himself with stones). I also know more stories of demons on grave sites.

Would you happen to know why it is they like to hang around dead people?

Well, there are quiet a few theories.

Like any other malevolent spirit, demons always feed from certain types of energy. In a graveyard the two emotional energies most associated with them are sorrow and guilt etc. So that would be one reason.

In this particular case though, I think it was because the graveyard was being blessed constantly and so they retreated to an area of the graveyard were the priest would not go. Then they began latching themselves onto anyone who went in, caused the violence and thus fed from the sadness and guilt afterward.

That's just one theory of many, but the one I to which I subscribe.
