Somewhat new to Magick

Hey guys, I've dabbled in the holy books since I was very young, first opening my father's Libre 777 when I was 11 (I am 21 now). I am an ISTP personality type so I have a natural tendency to take a very serious interest in math, science, and philosophy. I have read all of the required reading for the A.A. and am barely an initiate in the O.T.O. I do not get much time to go to meetings or the lodge because I am traveling the world 90% of the year for work. I am a shipboard Engineer and a member of the Merchant Marine's fleet of bad ass sea bees. I enjoy parodies such as Principia Discordia and The Book of the SubGenius. My other hobbies include reading comics, imploding small building to bring new land for small business, processing electronics for gold, working on engines, and worshipping the one and only lord, J.R. "Bob" Dobbs.
So, I'll be here for a little bit, see you guys around.

The book of the SubGenius hurt my brain.
Well met and welcome.

Welcome from a fellow new member!
I was unaware of this book, but did a little looking into it. I think it would hurt my brain too haha.

It's akin to splatter painting, but with words.

I may be mistaken, but I found the mentioned book amazing.

Maybe I am just not wired for it.... but I remember...
My eyes began to squint... and then water. I felt a throbbing in my temples as my brain began to swell within an unrelenting skull. I had to watch 3 episodes of Archer while the pressure relieved itself.
......
I seriously tried reading it for awhile and decided it was artistic literature. I couldn't imagine it was trying to be serious. Did you actually read the whole thing? And you survived?

Yes, I did. If I understand the concept correctly, this is meant as subtle message for the deeper you, not as something to comprehend by the thinking part. or it is just some mental diarrhea....

That is quite possible.
I think it hurt the Deeper Me's brain a little bit too, though.

Oh come on now, it's like reading the Kybalion with pictures. Same crazy connections that seem to come from absolutely nowhere and make you skim through the book for hours trying to find out how something relates at all to what you've previously read.

That sounds about right from what I remember, but the neurons involved are unreliable.
