Dream interpretation

Good morning!

I'm usually pretty good with dreams, but this one, even though it's simple, has me baffled..

I was at 'work' where we sold jewelry, and a guy came in and I helped him pick out a ring that looks like my larimar (light blue stone) ring and when I tried to cash him out, I couldn't figure out how to.... Wasn't even aware of the fact there was a register there to use. I spent half the time looking for a coworker/manager to help me. The other half, I guess starting a romantic interlude with him.... At the end of the dream I couldn't get his phone number right to call him to let him know I figured out how to cash him out. The dream ended with out me cashing him out, not getting ahold of him to do so either.

I can't find anything online associated with how I interacted with the ring.I had it in my hand the whole time, but nothing really happened with it!

It was a very frustrating dream!!!!

Thoughts?

Isn't it just performance anxiety?

Meaningful dreams often carries strong emotional background. I cannot say if this one means something at all. You see, not all dreams are special, most of them are just collections of memories through the day being processed again.

Did anything in that dream had special significance to you? Did anything struck you more strongly than the rest?

Dreams that are about the inability to perform a task usually have some underlying anxiety to them.
In this case it can be both your work performance and/or your love-life. Also the register can be a symbolism for cash; the inability too open it = being anxiety for your general economy.

The dictionary of dreams by Gustavus miller says this:

"To dream of wearing rings, denotes new enterprises in which you will be successful.
A broken ring, foretells quarrels and unhappiness in the married state, and separation to lovers.
For a young women to receive a ring, denotes that worries to her pleasures and future interests.
To see others with rings denotes increasing prosperity and many new friends."

Briceida Ryan - 'dictionary of dream language' has a much longer section on rings, unfortunately too long to fully replicate here, but interestingly enough mentioning both money and love as meanings.
