"Occult" Music Sharing;

This thread will be specifically for sharing artists or songs that have "occult" undertones to them.

It does not matter what the message of the song is. If you have a sense that they're trying to tell you something deeper than explicitly stated, share it.
If you think the message is something that can be applied to practice, share it.

We're not here to debate whether the songs are actually occult or not. This will essentially be the "What are you listening to" thread of *specifically* esoteric music.

Feel free to share extra descriptions of your music.

A favorite band of mine, who hasn't yet made it big.
The Odious (Metal, groove, progressive).
Everything they say and write is amazing, and the dudes in this band are actually some pretty enlightened fellows. I recommend both of their albums very highly.

This band is called Savant (electronic, techno).
They're primarily instrumental, but their songs seem to be formulas in themselves.

The next is Infected Mushroom (electronic, experimental).
Also seemingly occultists; be careful not to listen to these guys much. They do funky stuff to the brain.

I'm not going to post videos for the rest, but:
Tool
Cloudkicker
Black Moth Super Rainbow
Carbon Based Lifeforms
Dance Gavin Dance (specific songs)
From Indian Lakes (also specific songs)
Nirvana (yeah, seriously.)

I'm sure there are more that I know, but these are some of the artists I listen to frequently enough to recognize the hidden qualities of the words and music.

I look forward to seeing what you share.

This is perfection in sound. Humorously called heavy drone gnostic metal [greensmile]

The trouble is I think any strong artist is doing exactly this. Whether they're attempting to share ideas that transcend words, send rare and exquisite emotions through the textures and melodies themselves, or whether once in a while they are actually talking about heavy existential subject matter.

As far as vocal music is concerned - I don't know how many of you are familiar with Purity Ring; it's a guy and girl from Edmonton, Corin's engineering on the beats is excellent but I'd also have to say that Meghan's a vocalist of a rare quality. I can think of less than a dozen vocalists, male or female, who have the kind of authority to reel you in and take over your head space and I'd have to include her in that camp. That and - the lyrics are almost always innuendos to sex, astrology, and occultism.

As for another equally riveting vocalist, take a listen to this but also pay close attention to the lyrics. It's not that anything's necessarily hidden but it is off-the-deep-end poignant if you can put it all together and it is a topic that gets thrown around a lot on here:

AWESOME THREAD!!! Thanks Haelos for creating it ,and you guys for sharing amazing music. [happy2] Apparently as I delve more into the occult when I listen to some of my favorite songs I feel like that I've outgrown them. I still enjoy them, but do not feel spiritually connected to them anymore. So this thread is just what I need, to find some music that I can spiritually relate to.

Wow I didn't expect techno to be this great.

Yes, this is perfect! I didn't know such genre existed.

Exactly.
Now this is the pop music that I adore! And this is what the mainstream music is missing!

And here is one of my old time favorites that I can still spiritually relate to.
I think one can definitely notice occult themes here. For instance alchemy relations, primordial Chaos and Eros and many other themes. And then there is this trick that I love, it zooms in and out to micro and macrocosms.
Jimi Hendrix wrote:Lord, I feel the ocean swaying me...
Washing away all my pains.
See where I was wounded,
Remember the scar?
Now you can't see a thing...
And I feel no pain - no no!

Singing about the Valley of Sunrise
Green and blue... Canyons too
I'm singing about Atlantis love songs.
The Valleys of Neptune is rising.

Mercury liquid... Emerald's shining
Telling me where I came from -
Honey Sun... Pourquise Bed he
Lays in -... on the Burning
Edge Horizon.

I'm sailing on the Bluebird's mission...
Bubble and curls and tiptoes in the foam -
See the wind make love to all
The ocean... Joy spread and
The massage got home -

Singing about the Valley of Sunsets...
Purple and gold... the Armies of the Lord
Before ancient Egypt, there were moon trips...
The Valleys of Neptune is arising -

Look out East coast, but you're
Gonna have a neighbor,
A rebirth land...Home of
The praying Burning Sands.

We know there were 3 continents
So much older...
And they shall rise, and
Tell us much more the truth of man -

I see visions of sleeping peaks
Erupting...
Releasing all hell that
Will shake the Earth from end to end -
And this ain't bad news, good news,
Or any news... it's just the truth,
Better save your souls while
You can -

Singing about the New Valleys
Of the Sunrise... Rainbow clean,
The world is gonna be...
Singing about getting ready for the new tide...
The Valleys of Neptune is arising.

A lot of good links so far.

I like the heavy version better, but this one gives me some good feels.

EDIT: For continuity purposes

Elvenking - Twilight of Magic
Elvenking - Witches Gather
References to magick, left-hand path, witchcraft, paganism in the lyrics.

Oh yeah, so I was lipping off about Purity Ring earlier. I'd say this one is more mystic and introspective, strongly so, but see what you think of her ladder reference. :)

As for drum n bass and one of my favorite veteran producers of that scene, this one's got a lot of aspiration but in particular the video is loaded with a lot of metaphor. I think I posted this a long time ago in the listening thread, massive respect!
