Necromancy and Christianity

Hey I am a christian and I really want to become a necromancer. I already know that in old grimoires that necromancy was supported by christianity by using the power of God, but I don't want to incorporate ceremonial methods in my practice, just something simple. Any suggestions?

I'd start by reading up on the Christian perspective of life and death, and then find some symbol's to meditate on.

I'm also curious on how you define 'necromancy' in general.

I define necromancy as the divination of the dead, but I am also talking about the magical perspective of working with the dead, sorry if I didnt specify that and I know necromancy isnt summoning corpses or controlling spirits :)

Pardon my ignorance if I'm wrong, but isn't necromancy (and most divination in general) strictly forbidden by the Bible and in Christian doctrine?

Deuteronomy 18:9-13 is a pretty broad cloth, but I guess in Paul's opinion do whatever floats your boat so long as you don't share it with the kind of Christian who'd lose their shit over it (paraphrasing 1 Corinthians 8 with a LOT of liberty).

Actually The_Spiral necromancy was practiced by christians in the middle ages from various grimoires and many people still use grimoires like those such as the lesser key of solomon, which uses the power of God in their ceremonies.

And don't forget the other magical traditions which involve christian aspects such as hoodoo, Braucherei, curanderismo, and benedicaria

And Joseph was mentioned in the bible for doing divination in Genesis 44 (Scrying into a cup I believe)

I'm just trying to figure out some ideas to create a unique path sorry if I didn't mention that earlier

Which is why I ask. The summoning of 'spirits' is different from the summoning of the dead.

Yes, the Pennsylvania Dutch.

I like to listen to Mark Stavish when I can and he goes into a lot of German and Rosicrucian history of that area of the country - fascinating stuff.

Hermeticism opened a lot of doors in Europe as well, partly on the Hermetica being something like an even more Platonic version of the same ideas.

I suggest "three books of occult philosophy" by Agrippa. He was a christian priest and has both arguments of why magic is christian and how to perform the kind of magic you are looking for.
