Poetry as magick?

Hi all

I'm still pretty new to the occult world but I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck using poetry/lyric writing as a form of magick? I only ask because I don't seem to be having any luck with charging sigils and wondered if poems could work as an alternative.

Many thanks

Everything you create is technically a talisman.

Cool, so as long as it contains my will/intent it can be effective? Guess I'll keep practising and see how the results work out for me. Thanks Desecrated.

Yes, And you will also put a lot of energy into something you create.

Don't be afraid to go a little bit over the top, like adding illustration or decorations of some sort to it.
Some classic tricks are: using a finer piece of paper, using real ink, having a pen that is specifically dedicated to "magic poetry" only that can not be used for other purposes.
There is nothing wrong with composing it on one medium and then transferring it to something a bit more flashy when you feel that it is complete.

Using certain alliteration and rhyming schemes in your poetry and repeating it like a mantram can help your body and mind to relax , open up your subconscious for auto suggestion. A well made poem for this purpose can even get you in trance.
Writing a poem with pure and positive thoughts and theme and then reciting it accordingly can raise the energy in and around the reciter.
