does anyone know where i could get good information on working with salamanders?

It is hot work. Best to learn to control your thoughts before you start - otherwise they will be playing games with your mind.

First learn to control physical desires with the last being desire for power.

Then learn to control emotional desires with the last being desire for the oneness of all

Then learn to control thoughts with the highest being characterized by willingness to be at one with all.

You may see that each last step is a more refined version of the last step on the previous plane.

This work, for a human on the right hand path is a major precondition for the first level enlightenment.

It seems that our brethren on Sirius have put a constraint on the left hand path in this solar system so that the dark human brother is not permitted to control soul bodies (formed of highest mental subplane matter).

For those few that properly work the dark path, they need to move out of the human kingdom to advance beyond the soul (solar angel)

Thus you may see that working with salamanders is best left to those achieving first stage enlightenment - of which an obvious symptom is being able to stop all thought at will. This means that the mage can be immune to lower grade salamanders.

Cosmic salamanders are another matter and best left to planetary logoi and beyond.
