Re: About the word Paganism

Words change over time. Gay used to mean happy. I have yet to meet a Pagan redneck. Pagan redneck here! Sounding off! (but then comes the discussion of the meaning of the word "redneck") I don't chew/smoke tobacco, but I do like beer, I don't like truck and tractor pulls, but I do drive a...

Re: Consumer witchcraft

That is a great article! I personally feel that commercially availble material is great as long as it leans away from the selfish "New Age" trap. A person who only cares about themself and their own personal spiritual or physical state can hardly be called a witch. There must be a balance ...

Re: Descrepancies between Judaic & Christian theology re: Sa

Have you read H.P. Blavatsky's Isis Unveiled Vol. 2? She basically lays out a very good argument that Jesus was actually more of a Buddhistic style teacher from the sect of Nazar which were healers and magic workers. Perhaps he was an adept and his "miracles" were magickal workings. This i...

Re: Descrepancies between Judaic & Christian theology re: Sa

Excellent post! The Devil and Hell mythology of modern Christianity is the greatest boogeyman story ever created. It was created by deliberate mistranslations and misinterpretations in order to promote fear among the people and drive them into the pews on Sunday morning. Fear is the most powerful co...

Re: Speaking to the dead after 20+ years?

The questions have always been with me. It is more just curiosity really. It wouldn't really change my feelings about anything.

Thanks for all the replys.

Re: Speaking to the dead after 20+ years?

I have considered it, but I'm not sure where to find a "reputable" medium in my area. There are way too many charlatans around who tell people what they think they want to hear in order to make a few bucks. I'm not sure how to vet a Medium.

Re: Speaking to the dead after 20+ years?

I appreciate the reply. There were other factors suggesting murder, like the fact that my step-mom received a substantial amount of money from his pension and her lover moved in with her about 2 weeks after he died. But to be honest, I forgave her years ago and I don’t harbor any negative feelings a...

Speaking to the dead after 20+ years?

I wasn't sure where on the forum to pose this question but this will hopefully be sufficient. A short background: A little over 23 years ago, my dad died from a gunshot wound. The official story was suicide but he was in debt to bookies from gambling so suicide or murder are both equally likely poss...

Re: Wicca: Is it a Worthwhile Paradigm?

I'm new here as well (I have been reading the site for several months off and on but decided to finally make an account), and I found this thread today while browsing the site and I have to say this is a very good discussion. Eremita, that was the most interesting interpretation I have ever heard of...
