Necromancy & Spirits

Hey I need some help from people who practice spirit work, generally with human spirits who are now dead. I have a friend who is a ceremonial necromancer and he said that you can not do any type of spellwork with the dead. I work with my ancestors and I was wondering if this was true. He said it too...

Their are grimoires that tell you how to do ceremonial necromancy and yes I mean the dead, but I cant name none on the top of my head right now

Actually The_Spiral necromancy was practiced by christians in the middle ages from various grimoires and many people still use grimoires like those such as the lesser key of solomon, which uses the power of God in their ceremonies. I define necromancy as the divination of the dead, but I am also talking about the magical perspective of working with the dead, sorry if I didnt specify that and I know necromancy isnt summoning corpses or controlling spirits :)

Necromancy and Christianity

Hey I am a christian and I really want to become a necromancer. I already know that in old grimoires that necromancy was supported by christianity by using the power of God, but I don't want to incorporate ceremonial methods in my practice, just something simple. Any suggestions?
