Bad tarot experience

I am fairly new at tarot cards, having started only a couple weeks ago. I've been doing really simple questions, like will i have a good day tomorrow and things like that. A little while ago my best friend and i got into a fight and hardly have even talked to each other since, so i decided to ask the question "will we ever be friends again" but in a bit more detail. I did a 7 card 7 card spread. All of the cards came out positive that we would become friends, but i went on to look at the cards to see things with more clarity and detail. The first 3 cards looked to me to be like past experiences that in a way we have shared together, and the focus card also led me to think that one of us tried to break the code of silence, and to try to become friends again. And apparently the cards said it would work since they all came positive (upwards). That's not the part that troubled me though. The next three cards that came afterwards (the ones for future events) led me to thinking that something terrible is going to happen. The next three cards were the 4 of wands, the ten of swords, and then death. What i got from the 4 of wands was that the tarot cards were telling me to spend time with my friend, because soon terrible occurences will happen, hence the 10 of swords and the death card. For the 10 of swords i thought that maybe my friend or I will become Ill, and sooner or later one of us will die off... Or it could mean that one of us will die in someother means. Im not sure if i can avoid this sadness and death by doing something, does anyone have any ideas?

Or the four of wands could simply mean there's going to be a change in the works - that the present will shift

the 10 of swords: this change will disillusion your or friend, and you'll realize, perhaps, that the reason yall fought was retarded - that it wasn't even whoever's fault at all - that you (or him) WERE wrong

and death usually signals a change for the BETTER rather than the worse. Death is the freedom of our souls perminantly (until reincarnation of the energy), and that freedom leads to new experiences. We simply attach death to bad because it seems bad on the level we understand during emotional experiences (consciously).

So rather than one of you dying, a part of you will die - the wool over your eyes will be lifted, so to say, and through this your friendship will change - probably for the better, either way you look at it - you and yer pal for the good of you both, or you alone and him alone for the good of you both.

There ae many ways to die. There are many non physical forms of death. When a part of you dies it allows other parts to grow stronger and live. A real friend sticks with you when things are tough. Sometimes those hard times and negative experiences strengths friendship.

Remember to keep your interpretation of the cards related to the question that you asked. You didn't ask: what's going to happen to my friend and I? And you didn't ask about your health... you asked about the friendship. Interpret the cards within the realm of the question, instead of jumping to negative prognostications.

When you first begin usuing the cards, it is easy to stray a little when reading them and inject other questions into the reading. The only thing to help with this is practice, concentration and more experience with your cards. I have found good meditation practices work well in helping one to concentrate when reading a spread. If you find your mind straying, and more questions coming, make yourself focus solely on the question at hand and convince yourself you will deal with the other questions at a later time. If you keep straying, keep a journal near by, write down the initial question you asked, draw out your spread and close the spread. Clear you mind and focus on that one question before going back to it. In time, you will find your concentration will improve and your reads will become almost second nature.....IF......it is meant to be.

Make sure you get to know your cards well. Since you are new to Tarot, take time....lots of time....to feel them, get to know them, look through them over and over, read each one individually, and most importantly....pick up what YOU feel the card is telling you....not just what a book says it should be. That is the only way you can develop a personal realtionship with your cards.

I have a certain deck I use more then any other. It is not one I would have thought would be the most powerful and clear for me, but it turned out that way. The cards to me now are not merely a deck of tarot I pull out once in awhile to satisfy a need for a reading for someone or to answer a question. They are a sacred part of me, are held sacred and treated as such. It took time to develop this relationship with my cards but I am blessed that I have taken that time.

As for the "Death" card...Isyorn answered that above so I will not touch on that. There is nothing more that can be said. Other good advice here as well.

When I do personal readings I simply ask the cards to tell me what they feel like telling me and thank the cards afterwards. I find this is a lot easier to do when working with cards. Otherwise I'll end up with readings no matter how uber focused I am that make absolutely no sence at all.

I have found reading for myself is incredibly difficult. I know for sure that I am injecting my knowledge into what I am reading, rather than pulling knowledge out of the reading.

My suggestion is to read for situations & questions that don't involve you much & are not near & dear. You will be more at ease & more relaxed, which is a better learning situation... Find a friend who can do your readings for you when you need them. I can suggest a place where you can trade a reading for a reading if you don't have anyone who can do so. :)
