I'm very interested in automatic writing but I'm afraid that it's just as dangerous as the ouija board. I dont want to contact strange spirits. I just want to contact my higher self and my spirit guide. Is there a specific way to do so by automatic writing? I think I have experienced automatic writing before because sometimes I'll be loosing control of what I write and I end up writing about something way off topic without myself knowing.

Personally, I use scrying over automatic writing, but it all comes from the same place and does the same thing. From my experiance, you just need to make it known to your spirit guide that you need to talk to them, and them alone. If you want to help reinforce that idea, you can always put down a protective shield with your ritual of choice. But the important thing is that you spirit guide is aware of your desire to speak with it. Then they should be able to help you guide the experiance.

Anyways I feel that any writing is automatic in a sense only limited by how fast you can type! I often write fiction and find myself in NO CONTROL at all of where the story goes, until I read it over and begin changing or reconstructing it! But I understand you two are talking about antoher use of automatic writing, still if you havent heard of him you might want to check out: DESNOS!
He even spoke automatic, or shall I say, he spoke DADA and was apart of that whole thing!

Since channeling is one of those things that's easier to control what comes in and what doesn't come in I see automatic writing as a safer alternative to ouija boards.
