Face Reading

Post by Occult Forum Archive »

At the risk of this being a duplicate, I pose the question: Is anyone here experienced or interested in Facial Reading? I had known of the basic concepts of it, however upon further research, found more detail than I ever could have imagined. Anyway, I was also wondering of the success rate of analysis if others had it done? I had mine done by a guy who was visiting for a weekend with a psychic convention, but I looked around on the web & found one here:
www.astrology.com
My reading came up as such:
  • Left Field Thinker & non conformist
  • Inventive Idealist
  • Likes a challenge
  • Good at recognising paradigms & predictable patterned occurrences
  • Low levels of self esteem
  • Low tolerance & forebearance (yes people who act like airheads get to me- see above underlined for cause & relation:roll: )
  • Creatively motivated
  • Shows selfish & mean character
  • Intense Intellectual
  • Lack of finesse (understandable I think, that I don't like stuck up people)
  • Cautious
  • Meticulous & secretive
  • Friendly but reserved
  • High energy levels
  • Strong convictions
  • Sore Loser
  • Plans ahead
  • Difficulty achieving fulfillment
  • Authoritive

Anyone else care to share analysis readings? Don't make me the lonely poster.......:-|

Face Reading

Thank you for doing a unique form of divination. It's greatly appreciated. It is not a duplicate post so no need to worry there. I haven't used this in a while though but it is accurate.

For example my one cousin is very arrogant thinking she knows EVERYTHING and is rather close minded and bigoted. Her face shows these characteristics very well. While another one is not such a haughty snooty person and is very very noble and sweet. These are traits that show clearly from her face.

It uses your face shape. Is it round square oval heart shaped etc. Then the spacing and size of the eyes are important. Does the person have soft features or sharp features? Does the person have a double chin or not? The shape and size of the nose and ears are impotant too. Does the person have marks or blemishes on their face? Any wrinkles or fine lines. And other things you take into consideration when doing face readings. Or so this is how I was taught. It's been a while since I've used face reading.

Well, I've been lucky enough to inheret over 200 books on the occult (including a few handwritten grimoires) and amongst those were two books from the 1800's that are about face reading, phrenology & interpreting gaits etc. When I'm sorting them out later I'll put them aside & then I'll post the names of the books, until then I'm fairly certain the Chinese have an art of face reading and I have notes somehwhere or other in my study on astrological face reading. When I've dug them out I'll try and post the basics - that's time dependent as I've just come baxck from holiday (two weeks walking in Exmoor)!

I've heard of it, I have a book on it as a matter of fact. I don't have it with me now but, I'll get the title up when I actually find the book. martins right it is Chinese the version I've heard of anyway and it seems to be pretty on target as those things go. It doesn't just deal with the face, hair and body type is dealt with as well. When I get home I'll dig it out and post what I can find.

Hello!

I haven't had a chance to write up an outline of face reading as yet, been too busy at work, but until I do the name of one of the books I have is:

Faces We Meet & How To Read Them by R B D Wells (London: Vickers, 1881)

Although it's an old book you can get it used for about £20. There is also an interesting critical review of physiognomy at the following page.

http://medind.nic.in/jae/t03/i2/jaet03i2p189.pdf

It is well worth looking online as well, there are bound to be many websites, a quick search threw up the following two basic pages.

http://www.aryabhatt.com/men/face.htm

http://www.aryabhatt.com/women/women.htm

There is more to it than suggested in the above pages, but it will act as a springboard.

Here's a link to a good site. There are many interesting forms of divination including face reading on this website. It's a good page for brief informaton on the subject at hand.

Serena's Guide to Divination

http://www.serenapowers.com/

Also I'd reccomend Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com if interested in books on face reading. If it weren't for rent bills and food a good amount of my paycheck every week would go to them.

Keep in mind with traditional face reading is that it doesnt give allowance for ambiguity and certain "anomalies" thats associated with ethnicty. Although modern books on face reading allows these variations. So its good to compare older books with newer books just to get a more accurate picture.

I have heard of Chinese face reading as well. Interesting though.

It's because of the reasons you mentioned Jenfucius that I don't work with traditional face reading and do prefer modern books on the subject. I do like Chinese face reading very interesting :) I prefer this method most of all as face reading goes :)

You may find intersting to visit http://www.astrofaces.com/astrofaces/, where they are trying to gather a wide sample of people's pics according to their main Astrological significators (Sun, Moon and Asc.). Some similarities and differences seem very curious and significative.
