I was wondering what kind of insight is out there about the quincunx or inconjunct... the best description i have found is that it lends a kinda on again off again quality, also read described as a neurotic/addictive quality
also wonderin about the yod formation... just an amatuer so if it is too technical i have no idea... thanks
quincunx? yod?

quincunx? yod?

hi beesting.
the keyword for a quincunx is 'adjustment'. it represents two planets in two signs which do not know how to work together. it is not hopeless, there is no decisive inablitlity to harmonize, but neither is there a flow and ease to the relating. a qunicunx is sort of like carrying an oversize tv up a few flights of stairs. although it's not particularly physically trying, not too heavy, it's awkward and you kind of have to shift it around as you turn corners, and set it down cause the awkward positions irritate your hands.
the yod is (technically speaking) three planets, two of which are in sextile, and each of them is quincunx the same third planet.
so the same sort of need for adjustment applies, but now you are incorporating two quincunxes, not just one. also, what tends to happen, is that the planet at the head, the one that is inconjunct the other two, becomes overfocused, like you see it with a telescope, but because of the iconjunct, you cant adjust the focus. its a blurry area of life that always seems to be upfront and personal, yet ambiguous.
if you can see the confusion in just explaining the aspect, then you can understand how hard they are to live with. i have heard astrologers say that yods put people in therapy. it seems true.
Karen Hammacher Zundag wrote an EXCELLENT book called "the yod book" which you can probably find at a used bookstore for cheap. it's really a must read.

hi dreaminglife,
thanks again for your reply... i sent a pm but i have little experience with this forum and I have no idea if i did it right. anyway from your description i can see why many people leave this aspect alone and hardly mention it... it seems to be the kind of thing that people pass over and I like that sorta stuff... anyway, if you are so inclined I would love to show you my chart aspects so you could tell me whats up with the inconjuncts... mars inconjunct uranus and venus inconjunct neptune... i dont know if this is complete enough information... anyway,
neat quote by the way
