Many times I have percieved them this way especially when I was first starting out. Dont ask me why but many think it is great fun to screw with me, and try to make me think I am seeing things.

Sort of. Generally I'll percieve them as a dark glimmery mass (this is minus anything I pick up such as how I 'feel' them etc. I'm only talking visuals in this post) Sort of like those heat waves you see if you look at asphalt on a burning hot day mixed with a shadow.

Just as a note, no I do not see 'shadow men' everywhere This is just when I perform evocations or othe rtimes where an astral being is involved.

There was a thread similar to this one before the last problem with the forums. A lot of great things were put on the table, but the general conclusion was that they weren't something to necessarily worry about. I have my own theories about them, but I haven't had many visits from them recently. In the early inception of my initiation into the mysteries they were very present, and seemed to have liking for crawling on my ceilings while I attempted to sleep. There is one thing I have come to understand about them, and that is that they are composed of the darkness which is darker than darkness.

I perceive Goetic demons that I evoke as shadows moving about in my temple during some evocations. I see them as fleeting shadows. At first this used to scare me but with time I became happy because I then knew that the evocations were working. I perform some of my evocations by holding two candles in the dark and concentrate on a dark mirror that is situated in the Triangle of Art. This method works fine with me. I don't believe that the demons are actually outside the triangle, but I believe that they are able to project a shadow onto the temple walls.
I talked to other Goetic magicians about these happenings, and they seem to agree with me about the demons projecting shadows from within the triangle. Some magicians have told me that after their evocations were completed (temple closed), shadows would appear on their temple walls from a couple of days to a week. To rid themselves of these happening, they kept on doing banishing rituals twice a day, morning and evening, until the shadows no longer appeared. I must say that I have never had these after effects happen to me; I guess I must be doing something right. Some magicians were so frightened that they dropped any type of demon evocation and stuck to other pagan ceremonies.

I wouldn't reccommend eating them, it could be a way of invocation, personally a very bad idea for banishing. But the flame over the head or any other way would be good, just don't eat them.
While i am not a CM i have expierenced this. Not that long ago spirits were messing around my house, a few of them. Doing mischevious things. After considering banishing them, i made a thread here on OF on what other's think i should do. Doh made a good point of contacting them. So i percieved to do so. Then i demanded them to and they communicated through sending a messange to my head. They pretty much said they were here first, and were very arrogant. Like a veil was lifted so i could see them, see spirits beyond our world, into there world. Same room same everything, just was able to see them.

Very often I would be in the recreation room of my house, and would see a shadow walking up my driveway to the front door of the house.

Little did I know, when I found out about the reality of reality some ten years later, that I would see them for what they really were. My father and mother's relationship declined steadily while in this house, and for this I blame the shadow people. While I'm not exactly sure what they were trying to do in my house or if they were watching over my mother who has multiple sclerosis, it remains clear to me that I was visited often by these bastards. I've done banishings and blessings over my mother, but they can only do so much for a physical disease. Anyway, enough about me.
Recently after conducting an astral experiment to increase my focus and longevity of my vehicle, I was approached by a spirit who looked like an old man OR an old woman, I don't know. The face was old and the eyes were COMPLETELY black. Scraggly hair covered their face, which was balding in many areas from age. Their hands were of ice, and the rest of their body was a blackness I cannot forget.
It said to me, "You are worthy..." and advanced on me. It was nearly two inches from my vehicle, hovering.. trying to get inside me. It wanted my soul and my power as a human. I could feel its anger when I snapped back to my body. Since then I have not gone into an astral meditation state, for fear of what might happen. I am by no means an amateur, for my will and imagination is far superior than most. I have had astral combat in the past and won on numerous occasions.
Shadow beings also follow my grandmother, whom has parkinsons. They say that it is her hallucinations, but I know better.. I wonder if my family bloodline is cursed from the past. And if so, does anyone have any ideas to banish these entites from my life?

If I go over to my in-law's house for a sleepover, I see people walking allover the place, uninvited, confused and icky, looking for an energy meal or whatever it is they want. There's absolutely no protection around their house so it's a free-for-all there. Pretty creepy considering most people's houses are unprotected, and most third eyes are undeveloped, eh?
In my house I have certain rules and customs that are practiced regularily to keep the big nasty things out (mostly) and the gremlins under the house. Occasionally I do come home, and find something ugly and beastly hiding in a closet or lurking under the stairs, if I have been lax in my banishing, but they are dealt with straightforth via rearrangement of the astral matrix. I reccomend shoot first and ask questions later. In the city, especially, it is more common to find the big ugly nasties wandering about. Fortunately I don't have to be concerned about demons, usually. Demons with real power and experience are much smarter and know who to attack and who not to. So they havn't tried anything with me yet, they know not to start anything with a true magician. You must always be cautious about these entities because they are very clever, and will attempt to draw you in by allowing you to defeat them in mock battles. It's hard to tell what's what, though. The recently demonized (less than a thousand years) and are, in my opinion, the most troublesome. They will try stupid things and can catch you off guard.
Alright I hope I havn't managed to lose everyone, yet. : \ The greatest physical weapons you have are, Sunlight, and in the absence of that: The Magical Sword, banishing herbs such as but not limited to: Sage especially Texas Sage (aka Buffalo Sage), Mimosa (a common herb found in the southeastern US with pink fluffy flowers and feathery fronds), Dragonblood resin, onion seeds, garlic, cedar/redwood (fresh boughs brushed on walls, not burned), and lastly fresh air/fresh running water! Used creatively they can practically eliminate any problems. Especially worn on the body, buffalo sage, which grows wild throughout Montana, Eastern Washington and Texas and various southwestern states can be a great friend if the magician needs to sleep somewhere outside of his or her home. They cannot touch anyone wearing fresh sage. By fresh I mean only a year or so old after being picked. These types of entities cannot abide the higher vibrations of the pure elements. They thrive in stagnation, darkness and putrefication. So try to do your laundry and open the blinds in the morning.

I must say I used the Goetia translated by Golden Dawn Magician M. Mathers, and I did not see any demons in the incense smoke (they use to take form) within the Triangle, but occasionally I would see them in the Triangle, and I felt their presence (the room would take on a gloomy, dark atmosphere) and sometimes I would see fleeting shadows on the temple walls. I would hold two candles in the darkened temple, stand in the circle, and gaze into the black mirror while performing my evocations. I would see my darkened reflection at first, then the mirror would go completely black (I couldn't see anything) and then the demon's face would appear for a few seconds (They are hideous), then the miror would go black again, then I would see the demon again. This would continue until I completed the ceremony. While taking my glance off the mirror I would see fleeting shadows race across the wall (I believe this was to distract me). These demons were actually evoked on the Astral Plane, because the black mirror is a window to the Astral Plane. Anyway, this is just a small description about the whole ceremony, which is a lot longer.

Actuallly what everyone is talking about are the SHEDIYM...a Hebrew term referring to the shadows of Shadday, of the realm of Yesowd, which is of the astral plane...in truth, they are not fearful at all, but rather than are guardians of enlightenment and blind or illuminate ... so if they are in your life that is good...i was stabbed with a blade by the them some time ago and then saw a merkabah in the sky...then great illumination came to me...they opened me up to truths!!!!! So, i have been wanting to learn evocation to call them back but so far no one has been wanting to speak with me about it.
