I'll re-read & take much of that into account. THANK YOU for your input...as I'm not on par (and yet still the self proclaimed leader) your assistance is greatly appriciated.
Acid09 wrote: This leads to the main issue I have with stage 4. At least in my case I know I will not be able to accomplish much because I have no real desire to search a stranger's back yard for possibly their keys hidden under a rock near a tree. Or a golf ball stuck in the drainage spout, just as an example. This is more of a remote viewing technique. Which I do think varies from astral travel because astral travel is the minds perception of space above and beneath and including the mundane while remote viewing is like bi-location. I have mind in two places at once allowing me to perceive information from both spots. But its a mundane frame of sensation.

Remote viewing...hmmm...I've never had a real desire for this so did not even think to add it. Maybe we can start a new stage for this??? But it would not have to be in my yard...we could pick a new host weekly...maybe to read signs at burger king in city _X_ or something...to visit places only one member knows and then poll to see how all get's it correctly *shrug*

I'll think about it...
Ok I think I have added enough. I guess I'll edit to add more if I see fit. I don't want to dominate this. I want others to get involved in the construction process. So I await the imput of others.[/

Not dominating at all...I'm greatful for your input so post away :D Really!

I don't know if this is an extremely noobish question...but what if you want to exit and can't remember the key or mantra in the astral and can't find your way out? Would you have to wander permanently? Or what if you were in there and your mom or dad came to wake you up from school, what would happen? Would you yourself wakeup, but your essence would be left behind? Or would you be comatose? I'm really curious about what might happen.

She'll be right.
For stage 3 it would be possible to use the same collective space as an astral temple. So the dream scape we share and the temple we astrally vistit would be the same thing. I know I claimed dreams are inner space and ap is outter space. But the mind's perception of the two are really so closely related that one could be dreaming and then in an instant be projecting onto the astral field and then dreaming again. At least I know I have had dreams where I could not tell if it was simply a dream or astral travel. I beleive that by creating a shared dream we are in effect practicing astral travel through our dreams. Its just those practicing stage 3 would be going to the same location a different route.
This made me think I'd like to join stage three too if I may. It would be interesting to have a place to try travel to when I go lucid. I've never really tried it before like this.

Probably a silly question but it wouldnt take long to enter the temple would it? A few seconds when lucid yes?

I'd advise you not to go too fast though - use teleportation or something like that instead of plain movement - because your surroundings could get too blurry and you could lose your lucidity.

It may take longer since we have keys to meditate on in order to enter the temple. If you have a problem there, it will lead to you not gaining entrance into the temple.

Entrance will be very simple and easy to access for the wonderful people who are just beginning their journey on this level. NO ONE will be left in the dark or left behind on this project. I will make a list of all questions thus far and go over them individually with Qryztufre when he arrives. We wanted to get this started and in the works now, but finalizing may take another few weeks. He is preparing to move everything he owns five states away and into my home.....in 2 days. We will need a few days to get organized at least. I apologize for us both right now, for not being able to begin this sooner. I am reading, taking notes and organizing things...even if I am not posting daily.

I just want to let everyone know that this is not going to be an elaborate, complicated, advanced temple with keys that require advanced experience in meditation and AP practices. I give my word it will be simple and it will not take long to access and will not be so confusing that frustration stops willing participants from feeling comfortable there. This is a group effort and each of you are an important part of it. The GROUP will be the project.

I will try to check this thread out as often as I can the next few days, but most likely will be very busy. I have taken off work a few days next week, but will be busy helping "Q" get settled in his new home. WE will make sure to check email, and PM's regular though, so if there is a pressing question or concern, feel free to contact either of us that way.

I am looking forward to working on this project with each of you and think it will be a great experience if we allow it to be.

Noobish? I like that. ;-) Good question. Regular techniques will work as well. To simply let your mind flow back to your place, allow your astral vehicle to re-enter you and re-circulate these energies. Or start dreaming and awake up. The symbolism behind actually leaving the temple in the way one came in is to leave the essence of the temple there on the astral and not carry it with you. It could, probably not near as bad as the fleu, have an adverse effect on you. If for some reason you forget the keys and leave as described just do a simple purification ritual to cleanse yourself of the temple's essence. And ground yourself with a shower and breakfest. If somebody awakens you while in the astral your body will naturally pull you out, almost like a fight or flight response, its just something your body will do automatically. Though I've read it is difficult to awaken one while in any deep trance. Again it probably would be a good idea to cleanse and ground yourself. But its never happened to me. However just to error on the side of caution I always cleanse and ground myself after I'm done with my astral travels, regardless of how I came to.

I suppose the worse thing that could happen from retaining ungrounded astral substance is it could, not likely but possibly attract some astral leech. If you're mind is not on the astral plains, but astral body is, you won't be able to percieve the leech until its too late. But if a servitor is made to banish leeches that night simply go back to the astral temple and it will take care of the leech. In addition I have read some people who must awaken hastily while in AP tend to loose focus through out the day. They may feel kinda blue even nausous. The theory behind this is that some of one's mind is still connected to that astral vehicle that wasn't properly grounded into their body and so they kinda drag it around with them. But its not likely so don't worry about it so long as you take care of yourself, kinda like taking a regular shower, you won't get sick.
Probably a silly question but it wouldnt take long to enter the temple would it? A few seconds when lucid yes?
Depending on the skill level of the traveler. If one is a beginner it would best if they took their time. But as one gains practice they will be able to go through it all very fast, as in seconds. I imagine most of us will require several attempts to enter the temple the first few times. Though I can't say for sure. Just seems "logical" that all will need to practice to become proficiant at entering the temple.

I hope we can make enterance as simple as possible. Keys don't have to be complex, but I feel they're nesseccary. Again better safe than sorry. The mantra can be one word. The symbol a simple triangle, perhaps with some sign inscribed in it. Its the symbolizm and effect they have on one's psyche that is important.

Does anybody think we should post up techniques for astral travel? Are we assuming that people wanting to get involved are already able to AP and or lucid dream? There are actually quite a few different ways and some may be easier for others. I didn't search or look around the message board to see what may have already been posted but for gathering purposes it could help.

Well, the the technique I use is this, some would consider it an offshoot of RV: I just think of a person or place, then feel myself going there, and since it's the astral, I feel my consciousness slipping out of this plane a bit, like when you break the surface of water. This doesnt require me to be asleep, as you can tell, although a lot of people seem to think that is necessary...

starting to clog ;)
OOBE:
Achieving out of body experiance.

ASTRAL:
Quick lesson on Astral projection
Or if you prefer start a new thread on it...

Related to both:
Dreaming or astral travel? (archive)
Lucid drams and consious astral. (archive)

There are no apperent HOW-TO threads on dreaming...so those can be started as well...

An actual thread callled " techniques" would help more then just those planning on this project and as such would likely be best out side of the confines of these posts. If a thread is started I'll be sure to include it in the main post for each stage.

I'm looking on astral projecting for the first time, but it takes alot of practice. I'm a figgity(sp) kind of person and when I'm trying to stay still and calm, I feel like I really need to clench my toes or scratch my nose or even worse; cough. I think I've had a lucid dream once, but I can't remember it completely. So if you did start this, I'd hope we could have a beginners section and those that can AP can just use it as a refresher course while others like me learn to do it for the first time.
Hey now, I didn't know that THAT was part of the deal. What if I'm not able to do the dream scenario and I'm having a dream that I'm sitting in class naked and SOMEHOW the dreams get merged? I'll never live it down.

~Breathe deep.
Actually I've found it fairly easy to mess with people while they are sleeping using OBE as you put it. I'll just pop out, go to the person, and project into their head. I'll mess around with whatever I see in there, and usually the person acts weird toward me for the next couple of days. Just something I've noticed.

No problem. I think it would be very useful to have some extra help for the beginners. I am extremely adamant that no one get left behind on this due to merely being a beginner. That is one reason why the temple will not be complicated or difficult. I think when the discussions actually begin to formulate this thing into existence and everyone gets together to develop the temple and keys, we will begin discussion on who knows what thus far, and what area some people may need assistance with. I am by no means an expert, but I do have some experience and was a beginner at one time myself, so I and others will be willing to assist.

We will get it all worked out and I am glad you are a part of the group 93Pryme! I appreciate your input.

Not trying to rain in on your ethics hitman, so don't get upset for being an example. But this is exacty why we should set some ground rules for conduct and make the servitor a kind of bouncer. I don't want somebody trying to manipulate me, even as a prank. Let alone for their personal gain.

Just as fair warning many "magick" people's have strong mental deffenses set up. You might find yourself inside one's head and staring face to face with something very horrible. So best not to meddle with fire unless you want to get burned- for your own sake.

I'm glad to be about too Iris. I hope we can get this off the ground and I can have somewhere to project to. Also I was wondering, everyone usually talks about communicating on the Astral. How would you do this? I wouldn't think we'd be talking to each other, so it would be a kind of telepathy? If so if I was in there and I needed help doing whatever ritual like "Whats your idea on the LBRP?" or whatever, I could telepathically question them? It would be like a lounge area for ghosts, sorta? I'm just trying to get a general idea/mental image on what it will be like.

I am going to try to attend the astral experience. I almost got out last night and I think I should be set when ever this happens. If not...I will keep trying to get it. Anyways, I think I am doing it correctly. I used the method from the book in the library where you make it seem that you don't have arms or a face. When I did it, I felt a little dizzy and my eyes were going to the back of my head kind of. I seen some sort of faint light but I think it might of been my imagination. I will try again tonight so wish me luck!

Sense nobody has answered this I guess I'll tackle it. Communication is possible and is telepathic- sort of. With the expereince I have done it was more like direct empathy as apose to all out telepathy. I couldn't read my partner's thoughts but sense her emotions such that I was able to understand what she was "saying". Actual talk sounds crytic and is usually only descernable through empathy. I have never been able to hear my partner give a speech and repeat it to her in the exact words she said. I have came close but nothing like a direct conversation like you and I could have in person. With other entities converstations were varied. Some creatures seemed incapable of speach while other could speak more clearly than I could. I am always able to hear my own thoughts and some creatures and to and extent people as well can also. The more emotion behind what it is you're trying to communicate the more likely they are to hear it. The better you get a projecting emotions through your speach the easier it will be to communicate "telepathically'. Again this was never like I could actually hear the thoughts exactly but the message seemed to just pop into my mind like an emotion that had a direct subject and idea about it.

As for rituals that all really depends on your choosen path. If you suppose to do an LBRP after an evocation you should stick to your guns. If you get REALLY good at it you can learn to use your will to do the same. Its the suggestivness and understanding of what you are trying to do that matters. Both on the consous and sub-consous levels. Man I should really learn how to spell that word sense I use it alot! :-)

---this and thats, ideas and hints---

---{ Servitors }---
#1---If your going to use them, then do all a huge favore and tie them TO the place with no option of leaving it... Just because someone gets bounced for whatever reason or gets a good astral slap for being a jerk, dosn't mean they should be followed home and further messed with...

#2---Be carefull as to where and of what they are created, some that would act wonderfully, also have a vengful streek and take things a little to personaly... [also not good]...

---{ Keys }---
#1--- If you want doors used, keys used, continualy so to set the pattern solid out there by a large group of people with differing levels of experiance, then they best be "usable"... To much/indepth and you could be shooting people all over the freakin place, which sucks at best...
Keeping them simple will also cut down on 'safecrackers', those who see a big door and complicated key and instantly think theres got to be a better way into this joint! Even if they don't make it in, they can weaken the integrity of the space by doing so, irritate the servitors and if they connect with someone inside whilst doing this, you can have wall tumbling down and other like nasty things like earth quakes, so on...

If you set up the right door keep situation, then an actual key shouldn't be needed... Or do a members only key, one not posted for any random person in the world to come across online... For those trully interested they could PM one of ya and have a key PM'd/emailed to them...
If nothing else it would cut down on pests, and set the pattern for what was alowed/key used, so if you did open it up later to the public, the pattern key wize would be locked in so to speak...

#2---Doors and doormen/bouncers---
Though it's always fun to have grand impressive doors, gates so on, and equely fun to have monsterouse guards and bouncers, those who have never seen such things will freak hard... Freaking hard in a newly created place can warp and mutate it, or loose a lot of thought form insanity into it's walls that like to pop up later and scare the sh*t out of people... I'd suggest something/one more normal though formidable looking, verses , oh say, a 3 eyed mutant pit fiend or something...Image
Same with the actual door, 20ft tall doors with freaky ornamentaion and glowing eyes scare some people off, as do ones with teeth, magick mirror type appearing faces and door knockers that grab by the wrist and yank people in! Something a bit less dramatic is probly a good thing...

#3---{ Surrounding areas }---
#1---For many to get to this or that place, they need some type of surrounding area, a forrest, a valley, some type of easily remembered and known region, groves of trees and dirt roads/paths seem to work pretty well for most... Even if they've never seen an actual forrest, they've seen them in movies, and imagined the groves in parks as being forrest/woods, so usualy a good type 'grounds'...
In getting to an area like this, and knowing that they WILL come to the temple, most will get there fairly easy...

---{ The Way Out }---
#1--- I know this is going to sound whacked, but it works...
Post exit signs, those glowing red signs above exit doors, just like when in a dark crouded club, ya look up and around and follow the signs out...

#2--- Provide a [emergency exit only] Something like the big red button or oversized cartoon version cercuit breaker...
Someone freaks and starts running scared, just pull the breaker and they get a ASAP trip out of wonderland...
might cause a few short lived migrains but, could save on a lot of unwanted/needed neg energy and freaked out thought form crap being loaded into new walls...
