Seeing things before and during sleep

I guess this would be the best place to bring this up. For I've been experiencing a rather strange recurrence of seeing things during and before sleep. The scenario usually starts like this. Right before I fall totally asleep I sometimes see the area that I am in i.e the Room that im sleeping in, i can see the furniture, the electronics etc. it's almosts as if my eyes are sligthly open and i can see the entire room albiet slightly. BUt the strangeness comes when I see something within the room that shouldn't be there I.e a person, a strange looking creature etc. And usually this happens quite often and naturally would cause me to get spooked and snap back into full consciouness.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced such and if anyone has any advice on how to deal with these visions. My only oppinion is that im either lucid dreaming or projecting and when it does happen i see entities that my eyes could not fully see while awake..

any suggestions or advice would be helpful

from what i was told, most likley you are enter (or at the thresh-hold) of astro-projection. and when your 3rd "eye" opens up it cause's Hallucination. Dont be frightened, they say those things cant harm you. most likely they are shadow creatures attracted to your energy or "noisey".

I see the same thing, also hear sounds like clapping, popping, and laughing. it frigtens me sometimes to but i have not been harmed yet.

so dont fear it, if you get a chance (like someone on the board suggested to me) try and communicate with it and ask it what does it want, or why is it there.

hey thanks for the advice Manifesto.. It gets kinda creppy though when your about to fall asleep and you see someone Floating above your body staring at you. Speaking of which. I was sleeping in my father room a few years back when he was still alive and I remember seeing a white smoke over my body and I just observed it. but strangely enough afterward i saw it move quickly towards my dad and all of a sudden he started screaming in his sleep. Any connection??

I read your 1st post wrong, but i never seen any entity "floating" above me. usually seem them coming towards my bed or standing beside it already.

and as far as that cloud goes, the only thing that comes to my mind is "bad dreams/nightmares" could be what "dream-catchers" catch. but next time try and communitcate with what ever you see thru thought.

Ive seen some strange stuff before sleeping and I think Psychic Hallucination describes it best. I've seen Nosferatu looking creatures outside the windows, to ladies in red dresses floating above my bed even up to a guy wearing all black staring straight at me at the foot of my bed.. Is there any chance that these could be spirits?

A friend of mine was having similar experiences about a year back, so I dug a little and wound up reading something like this.

At the time, my friend had been using alot of psychedlic substances, so I was thinking maybe they could be a form of 'flashback', but after being a few months clean he would often 'wake-up' into these nightmares of sorts. I tried explaining to him that is was only his waking mind trying to 'get a grip' on reality, but I really had no room to talk, as I'm not quite sure what he, or you are going through.

However, in The Art of Dreaming by Carlos Castaneda, don Juan states that these entities are "inorganic beings" and mean no harm to us. In fact, they can be thought of as wonderful allies (but at what cost?). He also says that once we displace our assemblage point from it's habitual position we are more likely to percieve things that do not make much sense to the rational mind.

So as someone suggested... I'd make contact and see what they/it wants. This time last year, I had a nightmare where I was walking in a mall when tons of 'dark-energy' (I guess) tackled me and prevented me from moving. Something in me, told me I had been in this position before and to just 'let-go' so I did, and BAM! I was in my room, floating if you will in what seemed to be an astral projection. I followed my father up the stairs and actually thought I had a conversation with him as I got some water from the fridge. I woke up soon after, but was too scared to ask my father if anything had 'happend'.

was this 'dark-energy' inorganic beings? I doubt it. But I was really proud of how easily I was able to say goodbye to my body as I felt that was my only hope of survival.

The 'dark-energy' could have been your brain-waves slowing down to a different state. in my psyc. class they were talking about 3 or 4 different brain wave states, and one puts your brain at like 1-3 decimals of energy, making dreams seem slow and what not. and it could be linked to obe

true, but if youre going to consider info in those books, there was also the episodes in the castaneda series when the infamous hater "la catalina" sent entities/spirits directly to don juan/carlos to impersonate, trick and kill them, and also possessed don juan's body temporarily during ritual...

Greetings,

I too have experienced something very similiar to that, however the only different aspect is that I could see the entire part of the room behind me, enforcing that it could not be me sligtly seeing it with my eyes open ajar.

I believe it has very much to do with psychic phenomena, and usually occurs during a spurt of psychic energy which enhances ones 'receptibility' to outisde and innerword psychic forces.

To the original author: You're not hallucinating. You're "peeking"it's like when you catch somethingo ut of the corner of your eye and glance ot see nothing there. Only you can see what is there. You're actually looking at atheral entities. Or that's my theory.

As to the dark matter: My friend, your dream might have been a warning. The dark matter could be an obstical that you will soon face in which you will have to let go and allow your subconsious to guide you. Or, it may have been your subconsious teaching you the stepping stones to astral projection.

Sometimes, though not for the past few months, I'd wake up with my eyes closed yet I can see my bedroom. My bedroom looks a bit different, it seems that its alot lighter almost glowing and sometimes objects will look a be different like my light is there on the ceiling but its a different design. I have to be careful not to move or turn my head to much in this state because if I do my eyes open and I cant go back into that state.

Once I managed to get off my bed and walk round my room. It was a really strange feeling as I could still feel my body laying on the bed yet I was walking round my bedroom touching objects and able to feel them. Also when I turned I could feel my body on the bed turning in sync with me. Im not to sure if this is astral projection or an OBE because when I looked at my bed I couldnt see my body there, yet like I said I could feel myself laying on it.

Hey psychonox, quick question. When you see the dim version of your room, will moving your physical head make it move as if it were a like regular vision? Or is it like seeing it in your minds eye so that how you move your head doesn't matter?

IN answer to Crytptobliss's question: Hmm good one. The way I see it its more as if I see the whole room in perspective. Moving my head didn't really make a difference. I can see the room only within my line of sight.. WHich in fact is sometimes more than enough itself.. At some moments for example when lying down face flat on the bet. I would see things coming out of the matress. so i guess that It would depend on where im facing

A couple of theories

1. Unconsious astral projection. Your body is falling asleep before your "mind", and this is leading to you seeing your room with your "astral eyes".

2. Fast false awakening. You're going to sleep without realising it. You immediately go into a dream where you're still awake in your bed. Your memory of your bedroom starts to get mixed in with the dreamworld, and you begin seeing odd things. Upon awakening you don't feel that you have been asleep, and barely any time has passed on the clock. This happens to me all the time. I can see anything from ghosts to aliens, and it takes me a few minutes to realize what happened.

Ok, seeing things coming out of your matress can be considered as something creepy in imo. :P

To me, that should be simple thought forms that gather near you when you're more active, astrally speaking. Your astral body needs some energy to be fed to it, and that is prolly atracting those beings. I wouldn't be too worried.

SpiralTrance, that prolly was AP, I heard that you can't see your physical body in the astral plane.

I agree with the second one.

I've experienced these too,I think the visions were mere imaginations from my sub-concious mind to freak me out.lol
Yes...man standing besides my bad and floating heads. We all imagined similar things.lol

I frequently have these scene's become apparent to me right before sleep....Most are random and sometimes I can focus my targets, much like in RV.
