I'm new here, and I'm not sure if this has been covered yet. (and I sincerely appologize if it has been) But what is the difference between just regular energy work and psonics? I only came across the term last year from another energy worker, and haven't had much luck in getting a good answer on the difference. Is it a distinct technique, viewpoint, framework? Can anyone help me with this?

Psionics is a type of energy work. It mainly covers telepathy, telekinesis, empathy, constructs, shielding, and sometimes healing. The Middle Pillar exercise is energy work, but not psionics. I would define psionics as the manipulation of energy with respect to your surroundings.

You wouldn't believe how many times I've come across people who say "I don't practice magick or anything close! I practice psionics" And even worse the ones who say magick is fake... Eh these are some reasons I stay away from places like Psi Pog.

I remember being flamed on psipog for pointing out that magic was nothing more than energy manipulation. They chose to remove their forum and remplace it with a q & a system because of similar reasons.
Their jargon also tends to confuse people, and make it all sound seriously complicated. Way too scientific for me.

Well, to give my interpretation, energywork is a very broad and general term. It encompasses any and every method of manipulating mystical energies to attain results in a magical working.
Psionics has much more focus on mixing energywork and psychic development and normally is very 'tribal' in the sense that, most any group of practitioners has their own flavor of it. It's very rarely a universal truth that 'psionics' entails such-and-such due to this thus it's much harder to define than energywork because it's a more direct term in verbal usage at least.
So to be more 'to the point', energywork covers any and any magical manipulation of energy but psionics is a specific branch of energywork focusing mainly on psychic development and energetic 'constructs'.

What's worse is I bet the dude was Christian too. (now if you don't get why that's bad... christians believe in a GOD which obviously fits what I said existed... and that this god has legions of entities called angels...)

heh, I don't consider myself christian anymore, but I do believe in God... better, I believe in many Gods. Anyway psipog is a good source of info, regardless of them believing in magick or not. They chose their way about it, it's their life.
