Exploration of Concepts
Original post: Sinasbin
A recent concept reared its head today, within the shadows of my mind. Tis not the first time. Like a wraith it comes and goes leaving hardly a trace. However, unlike previous instances, I have taken note, and I've decided to set this concept into the proverbial stone before it becomes yet another missed opportunity.
As I can unabashedly proclaim that I have partaken in the use of many psychedelic concoctions--my former days as a means of recreation, my latter giving way to exploration of both the conscious and unconscious mind--I have taken note of a most peculiar occurrence that has happened more often than naught.
This occurrence--as per my contributing I hope to isolate and examine--is that of coming upon knowledge at precisely the exact turn of the road, so-to-speak.
...Let me elaborate.
Many times throughout my numerous states of 'Altered Consciousness' [most times by use of psychedelics, though some stemming purely from the mind alone] I come across, what one might call, the most invaluable piece of knowledge to date. This knowledge, this pure form of mystery unveiled is so powerful that it provokes raw revelation and goosebumps abound. And always this most significant knowledge comes [or goes, take your pick] hand-in-hand with the particular state of 'Altered Consciousness' that I am experiencing at the time.
Now, is this to say the two are not intrinsically related?
It's hard to tell, but as I have said, more often than naught, this has been the case. Mere coincidence? Coincidence has become a word of late that I have been seriously reconsidering. I have the occult to thank for that.
Please, if you're familiar with what I am describing here [though vague I admit], I implore you to contribute to this reoccurring phenomena, and perhaps in our doing so we may become pioneers.
----
After proofreading this I am coming to realize that perhaps this is merely the manifestation of original knowledge. That this is all inextricably tied to the path of a man-of-knowledge [or warrior-spirit, sorcerer, spiritual development, etc].
It is essentially breaking free from routine to partake in the experience of the mysterious. The brief annihilation of the day-to-day drudgery. Revelations abound!
Join the fun, if you feel like it!

Greetings Sinasbin,
What you describe sounds very familiar to me and feel I am experiencing it too for some time now (indeed it is such illusive "coincidences" that once realised can really help you start learning the pattern of extracting such knowledge, I find it fascinating personally). Through altered states of consciousness(although I personally achieve them through meditative techniques), I have repeatedly come across what I too whould call "the most invaluable piece of knowledge to date". It is an insight of great importance that sinks in when you reach this state, and no matter what it is about (Self-evolution, a more complete view of how things work around you and in what ways can they be successfully affected/manipulated, an important realization regarding one's personal nature or path, it can be anything) it is certain that the information gained/realised will change my very perception of the world around me...I have come to consider it a form of Self-teaching(the self being taught by the Self so to speak), as I feel it is information known by us subconsciously that through this altered state finds it's way to consciousness. I find it a fascinating occurance and has led me to my greatest personal discoveries so far...I have also found that once you become aware of it, if you give it's practice a steady rhythm in your daily life, it's results become quite amplified...

What is the nature of thought itself? How do they manifest? As is shown by your post, there are states of 'being' maybe, that are inexpressible in words. I don't believe in coincidence though, everything is synchronous. Such as meeting a person who brings you joy, when you are having a day filled with negative feelings, a day of shit. When revelations occur within our minds, I feel like it was meant to happen at that particular point in time/space, or what you will. Is not Magick the manipulation of events of coincidence, so that these may be attuned to our particular existences? Then there is 'higher magic' dealing with confronting one's self, and advancement, or 'evolution' , but I still do not feel like moments of inspiration are random, but subject to circumstance. It is this direct experience of existence, so to speak, that all of us must strive for. Perhaps this can be related to turning on your car, which most people rarely think about, the same with the actual act of driving the car. These things can become automatic, robotic, stoplights providing an excellent example, and if I catch your drift, it is this type of routine, unconscious mentality that you are breaking free from. I have immersed myself in psychoactive compounds as well, and feel that the task of the magickian is to experience these states, and become more evolved, without the use of these chemicals, some of which occur naturally in our bodies anyway. Maybe I am misinterpreting what you have said, have never experienced what you speak of myself, and am under a delusion. However, I would like to know your thoughts...

From reading your post Amen, looks like you got the gist of what I was saying, you just... didn't get the gist of it. It was weird reading your message. Kinda like:
acknowledging/skeptical
understanding/confused
I know what you mean, but...what do you mean?
and all that jazz.
We're on the same page. Only it's two different books, with a similar title and topic.
