I just got through cutting grass with a particularly bad lawnmower. I was breathing the exhaust for about 40 minutes, and I was starting to get dizzy and very tired. I soon quit (I finished the yard), and as soon as I started walking, I started seeing colors.... clouds of them. I walked fine, but it felt like the ground was rippling under my feet. I ceased pretty much all thought, and I turn on some trance music (I had to press one button, wasn't hard) and put on the headphones. I had never heard the songs before, and it was pretty loud, but I could feel the music vibrate all over my body. I could hear the sounds come from behind, and when I closed my eyes I saw the music (there are no words to describe...). I felt somewhat detached from my body, but I was very relaxed.
Anyway, is that what people call "a trip" or "getting high"? I am never done drugs ( I accidentally took my antidepressant with Nyquil before, and that messed me up pretty bad... but that is it.), so I don't know if this is what people talk about.
Is that it?

Technically any organic chemical that's not naturally produced in your body is considered a drug Bozz. However, there are no harmful effects discerned at the present with Saliva Divinorum.
As for tripping, usually the experience varies with the individual. Most experience sensory alteration, both tactile and visual, along with some auditory alterations. Detachment is normal in this case as well, as are pleasing sensations. Altered brainwaves and thought patterns emerge as the chemicals play merry hell with the body's circuitry. It's pretty fun with the right company.
If you were breathing exhaust D&R, you were probably suffering from a lack of oxygen to the brain. Carbon Monoxide bonds with the oxygen atoms in our blood to form carbon dioxide, thus depriving our brain of energy. This can account for the effects you've described, especially the relaxation. Death from carbon monoxide poisoning is very insidious...you basically feel comfortable, fall asleep and never wake up again.
To an extent, saliva divinorum will change your life, and its NOT even a drug. It is life altering.
Main Entry: 1drug
Pronunciation: 'dr&g
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English drogge
3 : something and often an illegal substance that causes addiction, habituation, or a marked change in consciousness
Now, it's not a regulated drug and it's legal but it's still a drug. So is Alcohol and tobacco fer that matter...as they are both regulated as such (though both legal as well).
Then again it may fall under "medicine [4]"...but then most of the terms under that word seem like drugs to me as well. *shrug* Either way I think ShadowEyes answered it best.

I had a feeling it was CO poisioning. The exhaust was so thick it was blue, and the wind was usually blowing in my direction. It caused an odd feeling, I can tell you that much. But it did not last long, thirty minutes at most.
