Dreaming or astral travel?

Post by Occult Forum Archive »

Original post: Qryztufre

I've dreamt the same/similar dreams as friends on the same night...some as mundane as walking around one of our neighborhoods, some seemingly on other planes of existence. Is there a way to tell if it's just some type of dream sharing, oobe, or astral projection?

I have dreams alone (not shared by friends) that are questionable as well. I've had a few very realistic dreams, most of these I know to be nothing more then 'very realistic dreams' but now & again I'll question myself as to whether they were actually dreams or possibly something more.

Even though my circle of friends are into the occult I am more or less a solitary practitioner so it can sometimes be very hard to judge on my own when something is more then what it originally seems.

I used to actively practice dreaming and plan on starting again...so any input I feel will be greatly beneficial.

Thanks,
Q

(I searched fer answers to my last topic, though seeminly forgot to search to see if this topic was a duplicate...if it is, please feel free to lock this one up & gimme a *bonk* fer not looking...)

Yeah, you can share dreams with your friends... once you get into occult/psionic/anything else, you can get all kinds of strange stuff, so, it must probably was dream sharing.

Usually if you're astral travelling or oobeing, you should know about it... it's one of those things that you just know... and it seems different than just dreaming.

Some very realistic dreams I had vary from seeing through my eyelids to receive telepathic transmitions, which made me feel a pressure in my third eye...

To know if it was any of those things, what can I say? One thing I've learned from my experience at psionics and from many places is, practice practice practice. :)

its quite possible to be an OBE... just try going to the place where you where in the dream.
I once had a case (my first OBE) where I found myself floating over a shallow river with lots of piles of dirt in it... some days later my dad took me there.

You wont always know if its an OBE or something similar, basicly since sometimes you might just consider them to be normal dreams or overlook them. But at least its easier to tall what isnt an OBE rather than noticing what is. This is just a theory of mine so it might not make much sense

It would be worthwhile to read the collection of writings by Samael Aun Weor on this topic called "Dream Yoga". It's pretty cheap and available on amazon.com, but invaluable!
