First successful projection

This morning after I woke up I stayed in bed and attempted my usual astral projection techniques. It worked.
I floated around in the adjacent room, on down the hall, and then went outside.
I looked up at the night sky and star twinkled brightly and then disappeared.
It was as if the universe was winking at me.
As I noticed I was still wrapped in my bed covers, they disappeared.
I looked down at my hand and it was transparent.
I twirled in the air with excitement and proceeded to head back to my body.
I flew over it and spiraled around and then re-entered.
When I woke up something wasn't right.
It was daytime but the "astral" was set in the night.
It wasn't even my house that I floated around.
It was just a dream. My mind played a little trick on me!
Not funny.... well, it is rather funny. Back to the drawing board.
Has anyone else had a dream about "traveling"?

Hiya,
I had a very Lucid astral travel dream...though it was a dream it was real I could breathe the air feel the ground and also everything was clear and clean in the dream, though for some strange reason I was stood in a back alleyway...lol.
Another time I floated above my bed with a ball of blue light...then another time I am walking downstairs carefully knowing my body is in bed but as soon as I look at the mirror I awake...
I also had one strange experience where I had just got in from work and went to sleep...I turned over, well I thought I turned over but I ended up on the floor and my vision was like looking through shattered glass...the thing is it was my astral that was on the floor...the best way I found to leave the body was with the exercises in Denning and Phillips guide to Astral Projection...I must get around to doing this...I do have one fear and that is thinking I am projecting walking around town but then get snapped out of it and realise I have actuall been sleepwalking naked in the middle of town...lol
In Profound Peace and Light
PS Get an apple stare at it put it in a place downstairs or in another room keep going to it and looking at it as you pass by it each time during the day...then at night go through what you seen in your mind and try and imagine you are downstairs looking at it...

The apple idea sounds really clever. I'll have to try that.
Thank You

As for it being night and not your house, those are in-line with what I've come to know as the astral. It could've just been your subconscious creating this reality of what you thought it would be - ie. - you're in a house (maybe your subconscious didn't think it would matter if it wasn't your house), and you're sleeping (so it would be night).
Are you really so sure it was a dream?
Are you sure it was a dream? It sounds pretty damn close to what an astral experience can be. Your astral movement seems to be very advanced though, spiraling around, going outside, and most of all re-entry into your physical body. I'm not saying those are impossible for a first-timer, but I haven't heard of many people being able to do that their first trip to the plate. Those are the only things really saying to me "This is a dream."When I woke up something wasn't right.

I thought leaving my body would project me into the "real time zone"
I'm 90% sure it was a dream, altough it would be one of the rare lucid dream experiences for me. And yes, my astral movement did seem a little advanced.
Nevertheless, i think it's a step in the right direction.
Do you project into the real time zone or directly into the astral planes?

In theory, that should be the first place you end up, because it's the easiest. It wouldn't be unheard of though for someone, on their first try, to shoot past the etheric and straight up into the astral. It happens occasionally. For instance, the first time I hit the mental plane, it was straight out of my body, no middle-man or astral needed. Of course, I had been doing lots of energy work that night in preparation for it, but it seems to prove that you can skip a few planes to get to the one you want. Then again, if I want to play devil's advocate for myself, it's entirely possible that I was just really fast in shooting up the etheric-astral ladder, so fast that it was instantaneous and I didn't even realize it.I thought leaving my body would project me into the "real time zone"
Depends on what I'm up there to do, I guess. If I'm sight-seeing I'll start with the real-time, but if I'm looking for something more meaningful I'll go higher up. But as I said before, it could just be that I'm really fast at moving up the astral ladder. Whether or not it's semantically correct that you can project to certain planes without first hitting the previous ones shouldn't really matter though. It's all in the focus and the intent of your thoughts. If your concentration is good enough, you should be able to skip some steps here and there (even if you aren't technically skipping them, just going through them at warp-speed).Do you project into the real time zone or directly into the astral planes?

With more experiences I should be able to tell whether this particular instance was a dream or a projection.
Thanks for the input.

I just have a short taste of AP just last night (without really trying to get one). I went to sleep casually reminding myself to dream recall in the morning but it was in my dream or as I dooze off that I FEEL for REAL that my soul just float above my body(a real opposite of the falling feeling), just about a meter or so and it freaks me out and I think my adrenalin put me back in my body LOL. Now I know why people fear of dying when that happen, especially when I don't expect that to happen. At first AP seems like leaping into the unkown.
