Does anyone find their visualization skills are better with their eyes open? I've noticed that my ability to visualize something is much clearer when my eyes are open. At first I thought it was perhaps the open eyed visualizations that I used to do in the dark, but since I did not do extensive work with that I no longer think this is the case. I notice I never close my eyes when I make a mental picture on the fly, and I generally don't look upward... I tend to gaze directly forward. Of course I have practiced visualizing with closed eyes much more but, I still have trouble with it sometimes, where as if I attempt it open eyed I find I have little trouble at all. The only trouble I really had was initially learning to hold a visualization with open-eyes but I've had little trouble after that one little hurdle. Does anyone else find this to be the case?

I have odd effects and color issues when my eyes are open...it's more like I "feel" the correct color rather then seeing it. *shrug* it's hard to explain, but it's the same issues I have while senseing energy...the colors I see are just WRONG compared to the colors I feel.

I see anything clear, and I can hold a vision, manipulate it totally, only psychological beliefs effect my skill here, It like you suddenly question if you see things in colour or at all and pufff, you have nothing... you must tell yourself that you want to see things, do and am seeing things clearly...
I try to see all my thoughts, and make things glow with colour, see colour balls, and little monsters, you have to try!
I feel cursed co's I have'nt had a dream in a week, when I was having dreams I could lucid dream for 3 hours

so it's very easy for me to visualize energy with

These days, I tend to do open-eyed visualisation all the time...although I started out with my eyes closed I have slowly evolved to this technique as it feels much more powerful and accurate compared to the eyes-closed one. I believe it is a very good technique and it allows you to have a more immediate connection to what you are trying to accomplish.
Myself, when I visualise something i don't just see it, I more feel it's presence in front of me than see it with my eyes. I believe I cannot have this feeling with my eyes closed as the whole thing feels more abstract and imagined. Anyway, it works for me

focus on a telly tubby, if it looks like a cartoon, then have a desire to see realistic things, the tuddy will turn real, your notice that your stopping your skills, the power is already there in all, it's psychological, so treat it will psychology!
