I'm working on making fire balls. I realize I can't actually make an energy ball turn into fire, I just want to make it hot. I'm having a hard time doing this. I've also tried making ice balls, but my hands are almost always cold so that doesn't work, I can't tell if I've made one or not. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

For the fire ball: Just envision a flame of some sort while gathering the energy.
For the ice ball: Try making it and "throwing" it at a person, and ask if they feel any change in temperature.

For the fireball - visualize of the hottest inferno you can blazing between your palms, the type that would lay waste to anything that touched it.
For the Iceball - visualize a chunk of the artic floating between your palms, not melting; but giving off steam as it's frigid state gives off a cool steam.
I made it as descriptive as possible, makes it easer cause then you have the full picture in mind. You just have to picture what you want, and it'll happen. It's your energy.

well if you want to really make your psi ball effective make a picture of what it look like and stuff you know and "tell" your subconcsious this. i dont know it helped me out when i talked to my conscious.

LOL i would NOT recommend doing this LOL why? for one who do not know their limits might actually create something that will lay waste to the land. take it slow, learn how to munipulate matter first, THEN work with fire/ice balls for the best affect ^_^ some people can do fire/ice balls naturally while other it might take them YEARS to do it. so know your limits and work with that untill you are comfratable then push your limits ^_^ NEVER do it the other way, or else you'll be visited by Grim during the night.

The answer is you don't, so therefore you might as well just admit that you don't know, but you do know that it's possible to do this smaller far less difficult thing.
