Aura scanning - what do the colours mean?
This thread is for those who are attempting or have attempted to scan the aura field of another person.

I can do this fairly easily now, sometime I actually see the aura and other time I just get a "sense" of a colour associated with that person. When I think of that colour I can usually see the field but not always

What do the colours mean though? I know there are tables of these on the internet but are the colours dependent on the viewer? Is there a standard colour associated with a particular mood etc?

Anyone else care to relate thier experiences?

The meaning of the colors is generally reliant on ones own symbolism. If you normally think of blue as a hateful, cruel, force which represents pain and torture and you see it in someones aura, that's the interpretation you should use. Lists on the internet are by New Age fundies or people who don't know much about how the human mind works. Sure they're helpful as a lot of the time they're somewhat general, but developing a list of your own with your interpretations of the colors, how they interact, etc is the only thing which will help you develop.

Yeah I had an idea it was down to my own personal interpretations to a degree.

So begins the long process of mapping colours to various emotional states!

The colours appear to relate to emotions but I wonder if any other information can be gleaned from the process WITHOUT resorting to intrusive active scanning?

I'm not keen on reading auras to the point where I can see or interpret the various layers just yet, but I do know that when someone's aura is, for example, green, there's a very good chance that person spends a lot of time dwelling on death, the afterlife, or anything pertaining to that, such as sleep.

I met a Necromancer a while back who said that most Necromancers who are deeply involved in their practice have green auras. (Can any other Necromancers verify this for me?) What I found interesting about this is that my own aura happens to be very green. You see, even though I'm not a Necromancer, I have spent the past five years focusing more energy into understanding Sublimation than any of the other alchemical processes. I'm also a Pisces and, traditionally, green is the color for water.

I can't really go into as much detail about the other colors of the aura because right now I'm mainly concerned with interpreting my own aura (as well as the auras of plants). So maybe someone else with more knowledge than myself can take over from here.

Hope this helps.

Sadly I am not lucky enough to be able to see the auras of plants, the energy level must be much lower. Is there some technique to enhance this?

Practice with trees. It's actually easier than doing it to people.

On a clear day (or a gray day when the sky is not riddled with clouds), pick a tree and then stare into the sky about a foot above the tree. Because the sky is not an object, it's impossible to focus your eyes (unless of course there's clouds to distract you).

Keep staring at the spot in the sky. Eventually, you'll see a whitish haze form around the tree. Now, if you keep focusing it'll turn a very pale green. A pale whitish green means the tree is healthy. (There aren't any dead trees around downtown, so I haven't had the chance, yet, to look at the aura of an unhealthy tree.)

One thing to keep in mind is that there is an aura that personifies our true personality which RARELY changes colors if at all. Another aura that represents the mood we are in at the time, and still yet some say that there is an energy field that radiates off of each of our chackras in which depending on the color tells how "open" that chackra is.

Who said I was using my physical eyes to sense auras?

If that's in reference to what I posted I was talking about visceral's technique, if that's in response to vbisceral's statement, disreagrd this.

Yeah I tried that thing with eyes and trees and all I got was eyestrain! Thats not the way I see auras anyway, I don't use my physical eyes at all, except to concentrate and visualise the target initially. Looking at the tree just made my eyes go funny thats all. I tried the same with plants at close range and didn't see any aura.

Maybe some people are more sensitive than others?

Basically, I look off into the distance past the target until I forget that I'm using my eyes and that's when I see it.
