Ok, so, we've just switched on the new groups component.

It basically allows you to create your own mini-forums, which you control. You can make them public or private, and set membership to invite only, application, or allow anyone. You're free to create whatever groups you want, although encouraged to largely stay on topic You can run them how you wish, although UK law applies directly to this server, so nothing that's illegal in the UK

I've created a group for developers; we all know the site could benefit from some tweaking, but there isn't always enough time to do some of these things, we could do with a little help I'll round up some notes on known issues, and post in there a bit later in the week.

How do one make these mini forums?

Just click on "Groups" from the top menu, above the list of current groups there are two links: List group, and New group.

Press new group, and fill in the form. For some reason it defaults to a green template, I've yet to figure out why.. It does have a couple of quirks, as it's still in development, but I think the guys who wrote it have done a pretty good job, and it's stable enough to use.

If the "New group" link isn't there, let me know
