"Electrum magicum is prepared as follows: 'Take ten parts of pure gold, ten of silver, five of copper, two of tin, two of lead, one part of powdered iron, and five of mercury. All these metals must be pure. Now wait for the hour when the planets Saturn and Mercury come into conjunction, and have all your preparations ready for that occasion; have the fire, the crucible, the mercury and lead ready, so that there will be no delay when the time of the conjunction arrives, for the work must be done during the moments of the conjunction. You must now wait until a conjunction of the sun with either the one or both of the above-named planets takes place, and then add the gold to the compound after melting it previously. At a time of conjunction of the moon with the sun, saturn, or Mercury, the silver is added likewise, and at a time of conjunction of Venus with one of the above-named planets the copper is added. Finally, at a time of such a conjunction with Mars, the whole is completed by the addition of the powdered iron. Stir the fluid mass with a dry rod of witch-hazel, and let it cool."

Thing is that mercury wont connect with the other metals. Its boiling temperature is below the melting temperature of some of the other metals, thus leading to it evaporating instead of joining the mixture. Also quite possibly poisoning the operator.

If you make it then try not to stick your face in the fumes. I just copied the formula from elsewhere.
PS.. Mercury is poisonous so I don't advocate using it at all. Also, since the mercury does boil at 383 deg C or so, it will condense somewhere so once again don'e us it and if you do use it then do it outside.

I think it might be a bit more sucessful if you used coresponding items such as energies, scents, herbs, etc. instead of the litteral ones. Also here's a little astrological info considering timing. The moon avances a sign about every 2.3 days and mercury about 7.25.

I've successfully made a tiny bit of it. I keep it on me at all times. Not enough for a panticle yet, but Given enough time, you never know.
Yes, you do use real mercury, not some sort of substitute. It is an integral part of the formulea.
If anyone's REALLY interested in making the actual substance, I'd be happy to send a hint. Of course, knowledge like that wouldn't be free....

Mercury forms an amalgum with metals such as gold and copper and simply coats them when it comes into contact with them. Eventually it wears off. Mercury vapour and its compounds are far more dangerous then the metal at room temperature. I have used mercury a lot over the years for scientific purposes (reading of air pressure etc.) and I still have a small supply.

"The Bell itself is made of electrum magicum, an alloy of the "seven metals" blended together in a special manner. First the gold is melted up with the silver during a favourable aspect of the sun and moon; these are then fused with tin when Jupiter is well dignified. Lead is added under an auspicious Saturn; and so for the quicksilver, copper, and iron, when Mercury, Venus, and Mars are of good augury."
Now.. Scientific fact tells us that the meting points for the metal are as follows:
gold: 1064.43 C
silver: 1234.93 C
copper: 1084.62 C
Tin: 231.93 C
iron 1535 C
lead: 327.46 C
the boiling point for mercury is 356.58 C
Logic tells us that the mercury will boil off
