Left Hand Path Wiccan
Left Hand Path Wiccan
I am an Ecclectic Wiccan that adhears to the Left Hand Path dynamics. This is because Wicca to me is not all love and light. The very basis for Wicca is our understanding of Birth, Death and Rebirth. We know and seek connection to Nature, but Nature isn't always a sunny field of flowers with rainbows and children laughing. Nature is also cruel and dangerous. As I write this, many states in the U.S. are suffering from a Natural disaster caused by tornadoes. Nature can give life, yes, but it can also take it away. I marvel at these forces, I see them as dual personalities of the same source. In that knowledge I find peace. There is the same danger within us as there is within the God/desses. I am also not ignorant to the manipulation of others. Wicca is about manipulation of natural forces to create transformation in oneself. But as Starhawk mentions in her book, "The Spiral Dance", once initiated into Wicca, we are then set on the course to face our greatest challenge, our Shadow Self. Aleister Crowley describes this Shadow as the demon Charon, the Guardian of the Gates. We are all of course aware of the Goddess story of Her descent into the Underworld, how She was stripped of Her powers upon entering each of the seven gates, tortured to death and was reborn. Through Her rebirth She gained mastery over death and thus the cycle of rebirth was created. Left Hand Path (LHP) teaches that in fighting our fears, our restraints and our own "morals", we are gaining power over them and moving beyond their limitations, we are transforming ourselves by facing our "shadows". As a Left Hand Path Wiccan, I see the dangers of Magick and I discipline myself into mastering such power. For the greatest goal of all magicians (Wiccan, Ceremonial and Satanic alike) is the mastery of the Shadow-Self and the transformation into the Higher-Self. "But what of Wiccan ethics, 'Harm none' and all that?" you may ask, "How do you accept the dynamics of LHP and still consider yrself a Wiccan who subscribes to the Wiccan Rede and Law of Three?" That’s quite easy to answer; I simply do as I see fit, but I do not stir up trouble just for trouble sake. If I am attacked, I will attack back but only to the degree of which is needed. I do not use magick in such instances, to attack or curse another. I see this as a waste of time and energy. I do not need a "Law" to tell me not to waste precious magickal energy on a person who has wronged me. I instead take pleasure in knowing that this person will think twice in attacking again, if they are swiftly defeated by mere mundane means (even if this means the imprisonment of the attacker). I will then perform a spell to protect me from such an attack in the future. My magick is for the betterment of myself and those I love, not to be wasted on the Shit Kin of ignorance. I have even found that incorporating the Nine Satanic Sins into Wicca is very beneficial for the maturing Wiccan Magician. For the satanic sins are the impurities of human nature, the "shadows" that we are working and fighting against in our transformation to our Higher-Self. The Nine Impurities as I call them, help us to determine what is not working for us in our process of transformation, and what should be expelled from our nature and psyche in order to attain access to Higher-Self. I am also driven to mention the Satanic concept of serving the Self, above all others. This is also mentioned in the Feary Tradition of Wicca, “Celebrate yourself and see Self everywhere.â€

As for the being known as Satan, Lucifer, the devil. We in Wicca have a God, whose horns are his crown as he is the king of the Earth and the Lord of all creatures, The Horned One. I see no diffrenece in the satanic diety of Satan and the Wiccan diety of The Horned One. Both wish to set us free from oppresion, both want us to walk the path of enlightenment and both are symbols of Primal Nature.

Re: Left Hand Path Wiccan
I find these views from a modern era Wiccan to be quite refreshing. Although I dont agree with everything you are saying the very fact you've embraced the darker aspects of nature is commendable. Most modern Wiccan's as you say are to obsessed with the hippy, dippy love and light aspects of the faith and are rabid finger waggers (An attitude I think is better suited to Christianity with their "thou shalt not" nonsense.) At those of us who find use and embrace their shadows. I glad to find a like minded individual who walks in the shadows and isn't afraid of the dark.
Out on the wastes of the Never Never -
That's where the dead men lie!
There where the shadows dance forever -
That's where the dead men lie!
That's where the dead men lie!
There where the shadows dance forever -
That's where the dead men lie!

Not really my bag but probably one of the best people for that sort of Satanism might be Venus Satanas she is a user here with a thread or you can find her on youtube. She is generally happy to answer questions you should shoot her a line.
