Has this happened to anyone else here?

Post by Ekatl »

Ok, I'll do my best so that this doesn't become too long with useless details. I'm not entirely sure if this is the best board for this, but nothing else fits quite right. This does seem like a nooblet-question.

For one afternoon, the word (or name? I'm really not sure.) Samha kept on repeating in my mind. I have no idea what it is, and have never heard of it before that afternoon, and I wasn't trying to think about it. That entire time, I kept on having little bits of luck happening, the entire time it was on my mind, that didn't go on after the name stopped repeating. Other than that afternoon, that day didn't strike me as being particularly lucky.

I'm still very confused as to what happened, and if it's something I should really be thinking about, or just two unrelated events I'm connecting.

Has something like that happened to anyone else here? Where they get some sort of name or image stuck in their mind, completely out of the blue, and has some sort of chain of events that seems linked to the name/image? I would love to hear about it.

What sort of background do you have in the "occult" or what sort of knowledge do you seek? Was you wishing for something the days or hours prior?

I don't have too much background. I'm mostly studying everything I can find right now (mostly Phil Hine). It's all really interesting to read about. I have written a sigil before, just a couple days prior, since it sounded like something I wouldn't horribly mess up. It was something about wanting to be happy.

The little bouts of luck did make an otherwise bland day much sweeter, and certainly helped with my mood.

If it's related to that, that makes a lot of sense. I didn't think about it like that. Thanks.

The tree things that come to mind is that it was something changing the odds around you so you would be set upon a path of your desire. Or it was feedback showing what you tried worked. Besides what you already mentioned it could be that it was meant to bring you here so you could get in contact with someone or multiple people on here.

A beginner's meditation mantra is Samha. Have you received any training in mantra meditation? It might be arising from that.

This.

And this:
A beginner's meditation mantra is Samha.
When you posted about reading Phil Hine, your first post made much more sense to me.

My first forays into Chaos were through Phil's books.I found the Chaosmatrix site soon after and it all kind of exploded for me,from there onwards.

Phil Hine is very accessible and his methodologies are easy to relate to.I 'd wager you've made a good start by finding him first,so to speak.

Might have been a somewhat distorted past life memory of the Yogic mantra "Hamsa," or its equivalent form, "Soham." It means roughly, "I am He." The "Ham" sound is said while exhaling, and the "Sa" or "So" part is said while inhaling. If you listen closely to your breath, you will hear that your breathing makes a somewhat similar sound. It is often used as a means to help expand consciousness after stimulating the energy centers. Some yogic traditions would have their aspirants mentally recite a mantra all day, even during sleep once the aspirant had learned how to mental project during the night, and it's possible you've done this before with "Soham." People are rarely capable of remembering past life memories clearly before making tremendous progress in meditation, causing most of the things they remember to be distorted (usually significantly). Hindu mantras like "Soham," "Om Namah Shivaya," etc., have been recited for thousands of years.

Interesting article,it includes what other posters have said, especially in relation to what Phronesis said above.

What Phil Hine writings did you read?

He has worked extensively in Eastern Mysticism and Tantra,so maybe this is synchronicity in action or Aphophenic or both?

I just like the pic above [grin] it resonates with me highly in regard to the Swan aspects,so I posted it,enjoy.

Meditation on the word may help you discern its meaning.

I would just make a note of it in your journal and eventually, it'll make sense.

Being a practitioner of our art sometimes gets us in the flow of the universe
and little things tinker down to us but we just can't comprehend it because
we're not meant it yet.

Ah, it's been a while since I replied to anything.

@JRFM I haven't, but it is?

@Nahemah I've mostly just read the pdfs under his Chaos Magic and Modern Shamanistic trilogy on the ebooks part of his site, but I have been meaning to read his works on Tantra.

Those works are good bridge builders.

I haven't read any in ages.I must dip into some of these again, soon.I am a big Sherwin fangirl too.

Here's some more of him and some other interesting Chaos material you might like:

My own personal perspective on Chaos magick in a very general sense,is that it is a way of reattuning ourselves to the Shamanic mindset, while reconciling the facts that we are in the now and must adapt to and integrate the urban and societal jungle into our souls alongside the primal and tribal roots.

Phew, that was a mouthful, lol.IMMV and that's cool as Chaos magick is a multi faceted paradigm,or a metaparadigm even.
