I have been an avid reader of this forum for a number of months and my interest in the "occult" has been with me from a very early age. Put simply I am looking for explanations of the
directions some people choose in their early years of practice (if you feel comfortable of course . I find myself overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material and philosophies in regards to this
field. I have a reasonable grasp of the basics but as I have mentioned some past experience and direction from those who have been practicing and searching in this field for far longer than I
would be greatly appreciated. If some information on precisely what I want from my practice and study would be helpful I will be more than happy to oblige.
To be slightly more specific I am interested in astral projection, astral viewing & enhancing my perception of the universe. I have looked into things such as Kundalini meditation, hermetic development (in terms of the soul)
and other practices with this goal in mind. In short I am curious the degrees of success people have had with methods and practices and what they would recommend. Obviously I understand this is a very subjective thing and what
works for one person may not work for another. However in most facets of life much can be learnt from the experience of others especially when venturing into something that is unfamiliar.

I'm here severaL times a day and I catch what gets past the security, normally. This time we got hit by a flood and the filters needed updating.Vashta has sorted it,so we should be ok now.
Fecking spambots.Who wants cheap fake bags and viagra from dodgy sources anyway? Sheesh, moan, whine complain..... [mad]
I don't know where to start with this question.
I travel astrally and work with internal and external energies, for the most part,in my practices.
I work from a Heathen viewpoint on this, using what's common in my cultural and local background as my guiding parameters.
There's a lot to talk about, but mostly anecdotaly and I'm not sure how to describe what I do, to be honest.
I have my hangover head on today,so more later, hopefully.Everything is green tinged and hazy for me atm. [greensmile]

Not really sure if I'll get an answer no harm in trying I suppose. I have been researching astral projection and means of achieving this state it seems there are a large number of methods and it really depends on the person as to what will be successful. Also another topic that has peaked my interest for a number of years is spirit evocation and invocation, I have looked in demonolatry as well as other forms of ceremonial magic as this methodology appeals to me on a personal level. However the reason I am interested in astral projection and other methods of sense and perception is that I wish to learn more of the universe and it's workings. I realise I haven't really received a response and this may be due to my lack of definition or this forum being sparsely populated at the moment, however as I said what's the harm in adding further info? Some direction or advice would be appreciated.

My first experiences were spontaneous,in young childhood.Since then,it's been a question of learning control and how to stop going in,when I need restful sleep.
I have a limited control over this, even now and I also dissacociate really easily, when awake.
I seem to be suited to matters astral,by body type/brain chemistry, lol.
There are some well written about entrainment methods you can utilise, but what have you looked at and/or tried thus far?
Have you looked at lucid dreaming and the commonly known methods for realisation and how to expand from there?
I am now nursing a sinus infection,so I've not been posting much as I'm rather groggy. We slow down at weekends and the recent spamming won't have helped either.Hopefully, things will pick up again and you'll get more replies.
Until then,I'll do my best to help.Groggily or no.

What texts/methods would you recommend for inducing lucid dreaming? I have looked into this before but it really seems to occur at random for me. Also I'd be interested to know what sort of development you mean after looking in to lucid dreaming. In terms of entrainment I have tried very little my interest in this has been purely theoretical up until now. I just had a sudden urge to continue searching and reading after a 3 month period of inactivity. Essentially someone looking for info based in personal experience and practice. However I will look into the things you suggested

In my experience, everyone astralprojects while they sleep. It might not happen every night, but you'd be surprised how often it does. Most people simply don't remember their experiences or write them off as another dream. I suggest starting a dream journal to help you learn how to remember your astral travels.
As for projecting on purpose, well different things work for different people. Just keep looking around and reading until you find a method that works. [smile]
well, i can help with a fraction of your issue. i keep about a 99% lucidity going on when i dream, and am very experienced with the different issues that arise in dreams and remembering them. as someone had previously mentioned, the absolute best way to gain more lucidity and dream recall is to keep a dream journal and write down "dream signs", meaning the key differences between the waking world and your dreams. i can get into quite a bit of detail, so if you need anymore info, pm me. i have no experience in astral travel because it does not interest me. hope this helps.
