Malware reports

Post by Vashta »

Hello,

Unfortunately the site has been down-ish for this evening, Google has been reporting a malware threat, detected by an image linked to a malware-infected domain, the image has been removed and a site review has been requested, hopefully the listing will be removed soon, sorry for the inconvenience and any alarm caused, the site itself has not been compromised, and your information has not been leaked.

Once again, sorry for the alarm and inconvenience

Was the spam a result of the malware or was it an opportunistic thing?

I noticed a lot of Polish spam earlier, gone now though, thankfully and I just got another one a minute ago. [thumbup]

I cleared out most of the spam earlier, there was a ton, I forgot I'd taken the spamblocker off for testing while I was checking over security. It was just.. there.. I get emails when it blocks a registration, like 40-80 spam registration attempts are blocked a day, the URL has gotten onto some spam list somewhere that's circulated around and now without the spam registration blocker, the site would be buried under a monsoon of spam. It's a handy feature, but as we learned today blacklists are sometimes disadvantageous too lol.
