This list from our Beginner's resources thread is a decent starter one:

Models of Magic,a very interesting read.

Why this one,here?

I think everyone should make themselves aware that Magickal practice is not necessarily always equivocal with Religious belief.

Hello Latho,

A lot really depends on where you want to go and what you want to do with magic. Nahemah made some good recommendations. I have a few that are fairly general which also may be helpful.

Here are some radio broadcast to listen to:

I feel completely against this "let's post a million links for the new people". The internet contains all human knowledge, if you're not willing to commit to the journey join a more mainstream way of life.

I'm sorry, I just can't get on board with hand holding.

Then simply don't offer your hand. [thumbup]

I don't mind posting a few resources and answering questions,it's part of what we do here and it can be overwhelming to a newcomer seeing all the information available, both good and bad, but not having a clue where to begin. [geek2]

And no one starts as an expert: [greensmile]

I think it is good for people to express themselves clearly in the Forum. That way, people who are newer will have an idea of who the people already here are and be able to quickly dismiss those who might present a socially challenged persona or shallow opinions. That's speaking abstractly, of course.

Like those throwing abstract insults around?

See you had a good point hidden in there, it's only fair for people to get a full view of occultists. Not all of us hand out cotton candy ;)

More than fine by me haha. More specific topics I'm on board, but I'm guessing you found those links via magical search engine, no? If one is not willing to find basic resources on Google what potential do they really have as occultists?

Meh. [grin]

I still don't mind providing some basic information and I'd already done the search work quite some time ago.So it's not a hassle linking them here,as they are all available in our resources thread already.
I could have just pointed the OP to the thread, but it's a mixed bag and not in any real order, except for the stuff above, which is entry level and easy enough to extrapolate from.

Potential is meaningless until it is acted upon and directed somewhere.IMMV,of course, but a little nudge in the right direction dosen't cost me anything other than the effort of posting it. [thumbup]

I agree with Nahemah and am happy to try and actively help people to develop rather than engaging in some sterile critique.
