Daily tarot spread questions

Post by malachite »

Hello,

I have been using Tarot for a few weeks now with some issues regarding my personal life. I want to use them more.
I have been thinking about using daily and ultimately weekly spreads, but i need some help:

Daily:
As I am writing this it is 12:32, in Central Europe. Is it still usefull to make one since a couple of hours already went by? And what question should I ask myself? A question about today's theme? Or one thing in particular? (I am planning to contact someone regarding a possible date.)

So...
I took one card for today and it was a Judgement XX. Not up side down among other things Judgement XX says; "It is a good day for results to come faster". Well, the strange happened today, I was called in the moring by an internet course office, that i can expect my certificate shortly. Wow, what a coincidence!

But the point is. I took this card 2 hours after the news, Does this card still have to do with the news from 2 hours ago? Or do I have to focus on other things regarding the card?

Get another deck. one for daytime and one for night time.

Now if the major arcana gives you an answer you don't understand, There is nothing wrong in asking the deck a follow up question from the minor arcana.

Personally, I don't think you should read the tarot near that often. You are already way to eager and dependent on its input.

If you want to understand the tarot more I would suggest doing more reads for other people, less for yourself and study the kabbalah paths and sephiroth which correspond to the cards. Also try the I-ching for some personal divination. Its rarely the kind of advise you want to hear, yet usually right on.

I'm sure there are those who disagree, but I don't think its 'magically healthy' to divine too often, as it dillutes your magic... except one who may trade some of themselves for divination... in which case they are more powerful and more trapped.

And what of those that read tarot for a living?

Some are called to it more strongly than others.

Reading for yourself can be problematic simply because of the lack of objectivity.

If reading tarot too often drains the magic from a person than I would bet that person does not have a strong calling towards those cards.

I agree that there are some who are called to the cards, more than others. And to everything I say there is exception. But any such tool used too much can become a fetter.

I agree with personal objectivity being an issue. I can read cards for others with crazy success yet get discordant gibberish when reading myself. It may just be my Interpretation, but for me, I think I just cross my streams and short myself out... to which again I would suggest, work on reading others

Isn't it always more taxing to do magick for your own sake, then to do it for someone else? (even though that includes yourself and you will as well, but maybe not as strong)

I worked as a cleaner once and had no real problem going to work and cleaning for 8 hours a day. But anything more then 20-30 minutes at home, when I have to clean, usually takes more energy.

That's logic, yes. When you are at work you are "forced" to do so, simply because it's a job. And you know when you do not do that work, you need to work overtime or in the worst case be fired if you don't do anything. When you are at home the first thing you do not think of is cleaning, and with all the distractions it's only natural to want to do something else.

I have not found that to be true but hey, your mileage may vary.
